And we have awful relations with USA

Specifically we're pro-Britain.  Screw the US, even if it's broadly the right time period for them to be screwing with our country via the Dollar Diplomacy technique.

Yeah, and the sun hasn't set on the british empire just yet. And we'd want to align to that bloc early.

Also, I think our troops would be better in the african and pacific theatre, given our preference for warm weather. Could certainly give the japs pause with out tanks and such

african theatre is alright, but we should focus on fighting the germans as their tech would be most valuable if shipped back home and reverse engineered

unless we're going for the long haul, hoping we can be cold war buds with the uk?

Mind you, the african front does have germans too, and at an earlier date too. And we don't have to worry too much about a total loss forcing us from the theatre with a few tactical blunders :P

Yeah, we're going towards the allies for this. That's why we're opposing the communists.
So? Our short-term needs trumps over this.

Model 4 'Yellowjacket' Fighter
Moskurg's first full-aluminium craft, using the designs for a fuel-injection system nicked from Arstotzka on a v12 petrol engine. Using six Sorraia MGs in the wings and a stallion modified to fire through the propeller shaft, and a radio system to ensure squadron cohesion. This time, however, this craft has low wings, and has an enclosed cockpit so as to allow the pilot to reach much higher altitudes without passing out, or falling to their doom.

The radio decryption shouldn't affect our fighters much, if at all given that none of the Arstotzkan craft. And we may need to revise the hippo to be a little more user-friendly.

I'd still prefer to use Revision to get a dedicated sniper variant of the model 1 rifle, but I like the Yellowjacket design. +1 for it.

Either that, or revising the radio to revise the cost and encryption (in that order). For the most part though, we need to focus on the desert. We lose that, we've lost the war. Now, the arstotzkan women aren't singing, and it's up to us to make them start wailing. Thus, anything that makes it easier to drive them back there makes it easier for us. And we know they'll be pre-occupied with the mountains and jungle this year, so let's make the most of this one.

With cascade armed civilians and glorious physic defying hippos hiding around every corner, the best they can hope for is a Stalingradesque siutation.

Given that the SPAT is a really old design right now, which is keeping us from putting modern armor on it, maybe a modern armored car? Front mounted heavy machine gun, top pintle mount light machine gun, and back mounted mortar? That should be useful both in the plains and in the jungle.

I think at that point it is over designed.

Unfortunately we need to seriously bolster our air power, so the Yellowjacket.

Perhaps we can just make the Hippo smoothbore and uses APDS?

make it dual engine, give it quad-linked stallions and a pressurized cabin

that should seal the deal for our air power

I think we might want to wait on the dual-engine design first LSP. I will try doing that next turn though. Just minus the stallions and slapping in the 1.6 inch breaker cannon.
