NQT, I'm not advocating for a pisskop lynch since while his behavior has been questionable it's also fairly easily explainable (unless I missed something). I feel like Deathsword's replacement, Tiruin, and monsieur Jim (who I don't suspect but I'm really, really cautious and worried about.) are people I want to keep an eye on more so than pisskop.

...OK, people don't want to lynch Pisskop because they feel the PMs were initially misinterpreted.
People don't want to lynch Deathsword because he's being replaced.

Everyone How would you feel about a TDStar or Shakerag lynch?

Do you still think TDS is the scummiest player?

I do but I'm currently watching all the current exchanges with interest.

His last post was on the 22nd and he's posted elsewhere around the forum since then. I don't know what's that about and I'm not going to give him too much crap for disappearing (it's easier for busy people to make posts elsewhere than in here) but his content as it stands is mediocre and worsens the longer he goes without posting.

To put it in terms of a pithy quip, he's gone from active lurking to actual lurking.

Do you think my vote on Tiruin (in light of my recent reiteration of it) still looks like a pressure vote?

Nope. It only looked like pressure when you first cast it.

UXLZ, I can confirm I also received that PM. Not really worth lynching someone who'd claimed Reporter over. We can confirm what Pisskop does each night. I can see nothing that's to be gained in killing him.

While this is true, we can't do this for every player who role claims. I.E., keeping tabs both on flabort and pisskop would be using up a considerable portion of the town's resources, and that's only two players.

The easiest way to make sure he's honest about his role is that when mass claims come around, he needs to claim first, because Reporter fake claims are easy to construct once actions start coming out.

I'll look back at TDStar's posts and see if I consider him scummy enough to be worth voting for, since I believe he's been acting the same way that Deathsword was.

I understand that voting is democratic by nature, but is asking for a concensus really the way to..

Ah, who the fuck am I kidding. Like my vote on Scripten means shit anyway, when it's in blatent disagreeance with everyone else.

Vote TDS, I'd be less comfortable with a shakerag lynch, since TDS has actually done stuff I've viewed scummy, rather than simply being scarce.

Uh... I'd think we'd want to ask him everyday rather than wait for a massclaim. It's easy to keep tabs on a Reporter claim on a day-by-day basis: D2 he'll say who he targeted N1 and the target can confirm or deny it.

Everyone How would you feel about a TDStar or Shakerag lynch?
Either would be OK, though I'm still most suspicious of Tiruin. I'll see what things look like before the end of the day.

Pisskop, what was the reason for the differences in your PMs? How did you decide who got which one?

So, some reads:
Deathsword/???: Mostly reactive play, a couple of counter questions. My concern here is that his replacement request could have been a get out of jail free card in response to a growing wagon, but I'm not going to try get him lynched purely over that suspicion. Neutral until a new player takes over. I'll be interested to see what his replacement does, though.

Perseus: Same number of posts as Deathsword. Unlike Deathsword, he's had two pretty long posts and is willing to disagree with people, so probably not trying to lurk. Neutral until he gets some more posts in.

TDS: Also pretty inactive, but my problem here is that even in his longer posts he hasn't been doing much in the way of scumhunting. His last post was focussed entirely on supporting the flabort wagon and the ones before it were all very brief. Aside from his first post and one to UXLZ, all of his comments have been about that wagon.

UXLZ: By far the most active player today, and also scumhunting new people rather than following other votes. Probably town.

Cheeetar: Has too many 'e's in his name. Aside from that, he's been very active, answering questions, asking questions, revealing suspicious PMs, generally townlike play. I'm going to say he's town.

flabort: Still not sure that revealing Mask's gambit was in the town's best interest, but he's been active and participating. I don't think that he's scum, but third party is still an option. Could be a veteran hoping to lure in multiple night kills early in the game.

Jim: Is not M. Bison. I'm frankly unsure of what to make of him at the moment.

Mastahcheese: Voting for someone over a gut feeling is reasonable play on day one, I think. Him claiming that Scripten has been changing votes a lot after doing it twice is somewhat more suspicious. I'm leaning towards scum, slightly.

NQT: Reasonably active, a lot of content in most posts. I'm leaning town on him for now.

pisskop: Pretty erratic play, really. Could be an attempt to avoid a night kill after getting his role revealed on day 1, but the Deathsword PMs were questionable. I'm going for town or third party, I don't think he's on the scum team.

Tiruin: All of her reads were neutral or town. This concerns me. She also hasn't voted for anyone at all yet and most of her posts have been pretty short. I'm suspicious.

Everyone else: will be done tomorrow. I need to be up for work in five hours because I'm stupid and can't convince my brain to shut down in time to get eight hours of sleep :/

Okay, yep, TDStar, you have a few things to answer for.
I've written all my reasoning out, but seeing as TDS is online, I'm going to wait to see if he responds and how he responds before posting it. If I forget, please do remind me.

Why the active lurking?
Why the bandwagon on Flabort?
Why the lack of responses to the people calling out your bandwagoning on Flabort?

Unvote, I'm in no condition to vote anyone and my interim class is finishing and requires me to write two papers, study for a test, and give a presentation in the next two days. So I'm not going to be able to post until Tuesday, probably.

How about PMing someone you think you can trust with the reasoning, so that once TDS answers they can post it to confirm that's what you wanted to say?

Everyone: Don't just jump into the bandwagon because you feel obliged to be making a vote. Remember to actually play Mafia- examine if the person you're voting for is somebody you think is scummy, not just somebody that is agreeably scummy amongst the general playerbase.

Pisskop: You offered to post PMs of why you think Flabort is town. What does this have to do with me wanting to vote for you? (Also: Your strongly 'suspecting' that somebody is detective means nothing to us. Either somebody has claimed to you, or you're making it up. You have nothing to work off except what people have told you, and unless you want to say that I have no reason to believe there's a detective.)

Additionally: Why send different people different PMs?

Letting somebody live because they're a high priority target for a nightkill (assuming they're telling the truth) is not optimal, because it leaves open the possibility for scum to leave them alive to draw our suspicion to them, and they can also argue that they were left alive purely so scum would have an easy lynch the following day. At the time, I saw Flabort as the scummiest player, and I wasn't going to let his weird silly claim get in the way of my wanting to lynch him.

Are you opposed to giving him the chance to verify his claim? If you were scum and you believed flabort's claim, what would you do?

Be the one keeping him alive so I can whisper in his ear on who to kill to prove his towniness.

Why not just send it to people and not say who?

What's so special about your reasoning for your TheDarkStar vote that you can't apparently reveal it to him? Why not just post it?

Yeah, now that I can see your reasoning I don't see what's so special about it to warrant withholding it.
