Pfp

Cheetar, of course not. Just because I suspect that one group of players is scummy doesn't mean I automatically trust another group.

Tiruin, if you don't like the votes on Deathsword, who do you think is a better lynch candidate?

unvote Replacement Request.

It's pretty clear my inactivity here and focus on the other game is hurting this. Considering I am utterly lost any time I try to do some reading, I think it's best if I left this one.

Deus: I don't understand the way you characterised a group of players as 'leaning neutral to scum'. Do you intend to say some of them are neutral, and some of them are scum, or that they're halfway between neutral and scum (demi-scum?), or...?

I mean to say that I don't have anything concrete to point to in their cases, but I'm getting a bad feeling about them. I need to look over their posts when I'm on a proper computer again and try to figure out if it's just paranoia on my part.

Jim:

Scripten, is your only complaint against Deathsword about his activity? I did a quick reread of the thread. I can't recall you posting your reasons besides his activity.

Not only inactivity. I was also looking at the content in his posts, which was suspiciously focused only on Pisskop, who seemed like low-hanging fruit. With his replacement request in, I'm wondering if another slot might be a better choice for a lynch today. (Replacing out isn't a town tell, exactly, but I don't like the idea of lynching a slot being replaced.)

Complimenting the playstyle of the person voting you unnerves me, but I don't know enough about how you play to say whether that signifies anything about your alignment.

Self-meta is obviously skewed, but I like to think that I can scumhunt objectively enough to be able to townread a player's actions, even if they are scumhunting me. (And yes, I'm aware that I'm conftown to myself and all that, but that mindset spawns OMGUS.)

With regard to Deathsword replacing out...

Unvote Deathsword
Vote Tiruin

Tiruin: Please respond to my question when you can. I would also like it if you were to summarize what you have done this game.

I would have changed my vote to any of my four top suspects if it looked like it would help get them lynched. Since my vote was tying up the lynch between Deathsword and Pisskop at the time, it would not have helped get either of them lynched. If nobody was voting for Deathsword, it also would not have meant anything if I voted him because it wouldn't help decide the lynch in any meaningful way.

If you could have your way who would you lynch? I.E., who is your tip-top suspect?
Either Pisskop or TheDarkStar. Preferably the former, but I know think it's unlikely to happen at this point.

Tiruin What do you think of Jim's playstyle so far?

Pisskop What do you think of Deathsword's replacement request?

TheDarkStar Do you have any new suspects by now? It's fine if you still suspect me, but is there anyone else that makes you suspicious in the slightest? Also, where art thou?

Persus13 You mentioned suspicion of myself, pisskop, scripten, and mastahcheese. What is it about those last two that you are suspicious of?

Shakerag As the day progresses there have been some overall changes in perception. How has yours changed?

Jim Groovester It seems the most important thing to you right now is where a person's vote is. I hypothesize that this is because there is too much to read through for you to properly analyze the rest of their posts. Is this true?

Scripten some productive posts of Tiruin's. While many of her posts are of the "pfp read later" or "reading more later" varieties, there are quite a few where she has done stuff. This isn't a summary of her actions so far, though.

EBWOP:
As is, my vote is causing a tie. Day end isn't for another few hours, since it's still weekend for most of us, but I'm thinking of changing my vote to TDS, Shakerag, or Pisskop to break the tie right now. However, that still wouldn't be productive as it would just result in two of my suspects being tied right now; while a lynch unrelated to whom I suspect takes place.

Why don't you be a responsible adult next time and read the whole thread before plopping down a vote like a lazy meanie?
First, I want to apologize for that.  Too personal.  But the sentiment still remains :P  Do not approve.

I don't know if I fully approve of you, but I certainly approve of your vote atm.
Apparently you think UXLZ is kind of suspicious. Does him agreeing with you about Deathsword give you any hesitation?
A little.  I'm trying to construct some associations, however, and a good old fashioned wagon analysis will also be in order.  So I admit that I'm going to have to have to maintain objectivity about it and entertain the possibility that he could be bussing or town.  Most of his apparent scumminess is how he's playing so openly.

Quote from: Jim
For forum mafia any time difference between posts that can be measured in single digit minutes might as well be simultaneous.

Deathsword probably did not take into consideration anything you said in your post when he made his own, what with how they basically both happened at the same time, so any theory about intent and implication based on post order doesn't hold water very well.

I see. I was unaware that that was how forum mafia game time differences worked.

I do still think it was an unreasonable assumption pulled from thin air, however.
However, his prompt address of my posts suggests active lurking.  And that's pretty scummy, assuming he didn't have time to read.  His replacing out is both a curse and blessing, as now we will get answers (presumably), but will now have to sort out his replacement.

Anyways:

Most Scum
Pisskop Do I need to explain again?
TheDarkStar Active Lurking, Wagoning, tunnelling
Shakerag Lurking, Jestering
Deathsword Active Lurking, Wagoning, tunnelling
Toonyman for Active Lurking
UXLC for gut feeling and slightly odd responces
NotQuiteThere for lurking
Jim Groovester for a fixtation on votes; also the person most concerned about my reaction to PMs
Persus13 for lurking
Toaster for similar to Jim on votes, and mostly being unreadable (Due to brevity of sentence structure?)
Deus Asmoth You could use larger posts, but you'd been active enough and your thoughts on the situation are definitely appreciated.
Tiruin Even though there's a lot of null-neutral reads, I think they're interesting.
Mastahcheese Very well thought out reads list despite the confusion.
Scripten Very understanding and mellow of anything anyone points against him, great engagement with the game, very well thought out. Would like to see reads.
Cheeetar Third highest post count. Asks very relevant questions. Quick to break down a reads list, and always the one asking for more information. Very logical, too, though I'd like to see reads from him too.
Most Town

Hah, I don't know why but lurker tracker when set to automatically detect nonplayers says Cheeetar isn't playing. But lists his vote anyways.

NQT are you doing a compilation spreadsheet of reads again? Can you see anything interesting?

I appreciate the work here, but when I ask people to summarize their own play, it's a form of scumhunting. (Answering for them in this way is fine, because you didn't justify her actions.) Like others use reads lists, I use self-reporting to see people's mental inertia, justifications, and hopefully the motivations behind their posts.

It's true. With my 20/400 vision the only thing I can read is big blurry red blobs of text that I can sort of vaguely make out into a person's name. Being unable to read the rest of a post, looking at a player's vote is my only means of scumhunting.

Of course I can read and properly analyze the thread. This isn't even the busiest game I've played in.

I'm willing to compromise with a DarkStar lynch. Unvote Flabort, vote TheDarkStar. I viewed TDS's jump on the Flabort wagon as very suspicious, and his further justification of his vote has not assuaged that. Specifically, it seems TDS wants to lynch Flabort because:
Flabort saw that 4maskwolf had a plan for finding scum and then actively wanted to destroy it. (not seeing this because the plan was not very threatening to a doppelganger (if and only if you kill me then two other people will know maybe I PMed you earlier?))
He sees Flabort as likely an anti-town third party. (because ???)

He also says this:
pfp want to get to more stable environment before responding in full.

But it was an accident at first, I didn't realize that those were the only PMs so far, and when 4mask completely blew up over it I decided to see just how far I could push him.

Also, I'm a human vigilante and was planning to poke a hole in his gambit anyways. Revealing it instead of killing him serves my purposes and allows me to target someone else.
Now I've revealed too. 4mask, what do you say to that?

Why did you want to kill him for his gambit? Also, why are you blaming 4mask for outing your role? Both of these are really scummy - killing scumhunters and pushing blame on others.

Which... seems to be heavily misrepresenting Flabort's post. While it was silly of him to claim vigilante, I don't see how he's blaming 4maskwolf for it or stating an intent to kill 4maskwolf.

I don't see any real justification in him voting for Flabort, just a lot of faulty attempts to scumread him for the things he didn't do rather than the suspicious things he did do.

Edit Before Posting:
Pisskop just PMed me this.
Is deathsword's activity consistent with his playstyle?
He claimed his time was taken up by Operation Overlord, but his posting there is relatively infrequent.  What do you think of his placing out?  How does his unnamed replacement sit?

I have asked for Meph's permission to ask about his activity level in both this and his current game relative to his meta before asking this.  Please only refer to his current games with relation to frequency.

As an added question; how comfortable are you lynching an unreplaced Deathsword?  What would be the reason for your position?

So actually... unvote Flabort, vote Pisskop. He's canvassing for me to lynch somebody who is up for replacement due to an inability to post. He is doing this privately rather than publicly- the mere desire to lynch somebody purely because of inactivity is scummy, but so is the private 'hey guy lets go lynch this guy okay?'

Gee, I wonder who else I sent things like that to?
Me, for one.

Answering the questions in the PM:
I don't know if his activity is consistent or not. I have such a hard time keeping track of players' playstyles between games, even if they happen at the same time, because EVERY GAME IS DIFFERENT, that I couldn't tell you one way or another. I think he's replacing out because he can't handle this game; that doesn't make him any more or less scummy, but it does mean that we should back off until he's been replaced. His unnamed replacement will sit at the end of a FoS when it gets in, and will need to quickly figure out the thread and explain some things, but they will get into the thread.
I'm against lynching Deathsword right now, simply for the reason that your push on lynching him is based off of his replacement request.
Pisskop, again.
