Casual Life: You are born to obscenely rich parents, you're incredibly handsome, and collect disability because you break out in hives every time you're exposed to work.oh wait that's actual life, not conway's thingy
Hardcore Life:
-you have EVERY disease
-you are born in poverty
-your face could make a naked mole rat throw up
-no one will give you insurance or a loan
-you are CONSTANTLY being fucked over by gender discrimination, racism and sexual orientation discrimination, no matter what gender, race or sexual orientation you actually are
-plagues of vermin follow you everywhere
-and they hate/attack you on sight

Also:
-You're born during a global economic crisis
-A draft strikes just as you reach legal adulthood
-Political pressure is moving towards some kind of purge.

Am I the only one who wanted there to be a short and utterly doomed Joker Campaign for importing a file where everyone dies on the Suicide Mission? You wouldn't even make it off Earth. Joker breaks his everything and Harbinger tap-dances on the Normandy.

You aren't the only one, although I wouldn't have made it a Joker campaign. I'd instead of made a bunch of short (~1 hour) one-off individual missions with the surviving members as they try to fight back alone against the reapers, but in the end they each die. No dialog options, if there was any conversational dialog at all, because only Shephard was willing to look at all options rather than run on the single rail of their own character as the surviving team members would do.

Just kind of a easter egg type bonus if you tried to import a game with a dead Shephard.

Hardcore Casual Gaming:

- You are always extremely busy, even riding the bus or in the bathroom
- You have to play every casual game you come across to even be able to get a good ending
- Smartphone thieves roam the streets, snatching your device out of your hands if you even try to get a few minutes of gaming in

Meh, being a white man is already casual mode. No need to casualify it even further.

Hardcore Disease-mode: Every organism has 99 Constitution. Good luck getting past that roll.

I think it was supposed to a be humerous quip, rather than a literal denial of the existance of poor white people.

Still probably not the kind of thing you should be spouting off on a non-serious gaming thread.  Too easy to get derailed with a statement like that.

OK, I have to reload the save.
There was a bit of a problem regarding flashfreezing, a ballistae, and a barrel of dwarven ale. Gonna fix it up.

Casual Civilization IV...

Civilization V.
Casual Civilization 2:
Civilization 4.

Hardcore Civilization II:
Alpha Centauri. :P

Or maybe the other way aroun. Civ II being SMAC made more accessible to the masses. Mind worms are too scary for the target audience, replace with barbarians. On that note, get rid of Punishment Spheres and nerve stapling in general. Move the action to Earth and replace faction leaders with historical people for familiarity. And ditch raising/lowering terrain and rain mechanics as too complex.
