No offence, but I strongly dislike the fortress layout. Its too uneven and.. seems to me to lack grandeur. I don't doubt its efficient. But thats not whats important! So Imma change it up. Workshops and stockpiles more centralized.
The miners found a cavern layer. I'm sure you all found it too so I won't bother describing it.
I dont like these textures.. but I don't know how to change them. I guess I'll get used to them. Maybe.
It might be cheap, but its not cheating, so a danger room is going to be built. Give these Fishery workers something more productive to do at least.

Pretty big migrant wave showed up, 48 dwarves now. 14 in the military. I've ordered the construction of armour.

Hmm a donkey skeleton just killed an axedwarf. Apparently, according to the reports, there is a necromancer fish cleaner, but he is still unsighted by my dwarves. I've ordered the military to station by the unfinished trader entrance to the new Trade Depot. We have a caged goblin head now! Whoo! I'm not sure who killed her, but the necromancer is listed as dead, and the corpses are not reanimating. Heehee, maybe she fell into the volcano!
Built a new workshop and stockpile level, to put everything in one place. The previous setup confused me. I'm sure Bobnova's setup was quite efficient, but it hurt my brain too much.
The danger room is set up! Time to test it out >=) Once the armour is complete. Lets hope these poor saps are better at equipping than those lost in my last fortress.

Another migrant wave has come. Dadgummit, a Trader is blocking the way for them in.. Hmm.. Its probably a bad idea to kill him, but Imma try to scare him away by sending an axedwarf to kill him, and cancelling the order before any blows land. It worked! And another showed up.. But he's out of the way too. Small wave, we're up to 51 dwarves now.
I shall order a cleanup soon. Stones and debris littering the floors is unacceptable.
Uh oh! The Minotaur Usek Xosunummu Maksest has come! Hm... Hopefully a cage trap will get it. Then we can build a labrynth! No such luck, the human caravan's guards killed it. Easily. Immediatly after the minotaur's death, dwarves have started getting intterupted by zombies, again. Two necromancers this time. Shew, busy year. Maybe the caravan guards will take care of this too.. Hmm the necromancers randomly died again. And 14 (still untrained) dwarves were killed.. Some by their own various extremeties...
A lot of thieves have shown up, most were chopped into little bits by Bobnova's entrance or ran or were otherwise taken care of.
I'm not sure why, but a great magma sea was randomly uncovered. Maybe someone fell in the volcano?.. In any case, an adamantine vein has been located.
Uhmm.. so.. I named the militia commander after myself, and he was killed by one punch to the head by his angry tantrumming wife.. So I guess I'm kinda dead.
My spirit has been transferred into a new militia commander!... hopefully he won't die.. like the last two..
After running through the fortress naked to get armour, he is ready to begin his role as legion commander!
A dwarven child has been possessed. He created Arak Zamnuth (worth 42720) a spiked giant kangaroo bone ball. Erm. Not sure what kind of kid would want to play with this, but I guess if I saw half of my family get killed by large kangarro zombies, I'd see the appeal too. Maybe I'll add this to the entranceway to scare off future hoppy-killers.
A few new dwarves showed up, up to 42 now.. Hopefull no more catastrophic deathings will occur. The dwarves have returned to a happy state since the last one, for the most part.
The cleanup has begun! All dwarves are now hauling the random stone and various items to their respective stockpiles! Also, the caverns are being walled off, just in case.. And that is probably the last thing I'm gonna do, unless something unforseen happens. Which I suppose is likely.

They were killed easily. There were only 4. The dwarven caravan is here, and I requested they bring flux stone next year. The Mountainhomes seem to require fish, meat, musical instruments, scepters, crowns, and thread.
Some Kea men stole a little bit again. A stonecrafter was stricken by a fey mood. He made Zisurkesham, a dacite amulet. (worth 27600)
There have been a few births. Three or four. Five.
One week left and.. AN AMBUSH!! Plus a zombie invasion. Hopefullly they'll kill each other off. I'm sealing the fort off. DADDGUMMIT I DIED AGAIN. Ugh. Five deaths. 40 dwarves left. Thief. Caged zombie minotaur. Spring.
