Ask the Patriarch where we are currently heading. Reccomend the Clanmeet or the land of the scarab-headed man in the South.
[/b]
Sorry for the confusion... You guys are at the clanmeet, as it is summer. Anything here regarding the clanmeet is assumed to be taking place at the very beginning of the month, as it disperses. Next summer you might not be, as you no longer have any obligations to meet and don't have to attend.

I really don't want to run this without Yoink's turn, so I'll give him until when I wake up tomorrow. I don't think he plans on trekking 3 months across hostile terrain to attack the Gokanloa, so it should be all nice and ready with the exception of running the Mokoli. Of course it being Sunday, I like to sleep in.

(Okay, I'm not really sure what we should be doing, but I need to post something! )

Mafun will make sure that any tribespeople who show special promise in either hunting or foraging shall be set primarily to that duty, and the woman who put in the greatest effort in foraging shall be given a special vine necklace woven in the shape of an animal. (Possibly a bear, turtle, tiger or even a bird, depending on what the tribe's seen in their travels!) Also, from now on at the end of every month there shall be a fairly short meeting of all members of the tribe, male and female- apart from guards and lookouts, of course- to discuss how the tribe should continue, what people believe are the priorities for survival, and how to react to various problems. Mafun will listen to his peoples' ideas intently, giving all a chance to speak.

In other orders, hunting and foraging shall continue as the tribe desperately tries to build up a surplus of food. Mafun will try and work out exactly what the women were good at in their previous lives, and any foreigners sighted shall be invited into the village to meet Mafun, as long as they are few and unarmed.
Mafun, seeing no benefits from betrayal in such a situation, shall order his warriors to keep to his promise and let any visitors live, as he tries to speak to them and learn of the surrounding lands. Scouts will continue to search for any resources nearby, and Mafun will open a discussion on hunting techniques at the monthly meeting, allowing people to trade their tips and experiences learnt whilst hunting, passing on whatever they've learned to the others.

Mafun will let the women raise their children as they see fit, but from an early age they shall also be taught Mokab along with their mothers, (Whose lessons obviously continue) and when they're old enough he and the other men shall begin their training with weapons. I imagine this won't happen for a while, though.

If enough large branches can be found, Mafun will order (and help with) the construction of one or two guard towers around the village, to give guards a decent vantage point from which to watch the surroundings.
Not too close to the village, though, or they might end up being a nice vantage point for enemies...
Access to and from the towers can be from both a simple ladder, or strong, knotted ropes leading from the fort to the tower, to allow the guards a quick retreat should their tower come under attack. The ropes can always be cut to deny the enemy their use.

Edit: Added a couple things! :)

AUTUMN IS DONE!

Spoiler: El-Effhichen (click to show/hide)

Nice timing firelordsky. Real nice.
Spoiler: Gokanloa (click to show/hide)

You really need to focus on food. Your hunting did way poorer than I thought they would, but your foragers made up for it by a great deal. You don't have a farming culture, you cannot afford spare labor unless you have a surplus set aside.
Spoiler: Mokoli (click to show/hide)

Ask the chief for some extra sheep and some food
Leave the tribe with animals, wife and any other villagers who wish to come to try and find a place to settle

Is it your intent to split the tribe?

(Edit: Please describe your "ideal" location to settle as well, and how far you are willing to travel for it.)

Yes, try to persuade other villagers to join me

Ideal location would be near a river or some other fresh water source, at least lightly wooded and near a source of clay and stone outcrops. (Other useful useful resources would be preferred, but not vital)
Maximum travel distance is 3 seasons travel

(I do realise that this will probably just be a short lived failure ending in death)

3 Seasons could get you damn near to the Mokoli while searching for that site. Okay, so you prefer wooded. Do you want it heavily wooded nearby, like forest's edge, or just a corpse of trees, like near rivers on the great plains.
Do you want to stay in the Greater El Clan territory?
If you are looking for forests, do you want to be near the border of the Kodana, or further south?

El-Effhichen players, in your turn please specify if you stay with the main tribe or follow Azkul.
Azkul, please let me know what you intent to call your new band.

Fairly heavily wooded (medium), not extremely thick jungle/forest, but fairly heavily wooded

No preference, if a good site is found within the territory then so be it

Near border of Kodana

Alright, this season (winter, by the way) you and your wife will separate, along with everyone else who chooses, and travel in the direction to the forest until you find a suitable site. I'll check to see potential likely spots and post them. It'd be nice if I could run the whole El-Effie turn early so I can have this established in advance. So Mice, Ahra, Tack, if you could get back with any actions you intend to do regarding this split quickly I'd appreciate it.
