About that... I'm on the chief's side. He still hasn't made any bad decisions, or done anything which has put us at risk. In fact, he's the buffer zone between us and making really bad decisions, such as taking the ex-slave away from watching the herd. And between Micelus and I, we can pretty much convince him to do whatever we feel is smart.

Good luck Azkul, but I'm not coming with you. Our tribe needs to learn more before we'll survive the settling process, and I want to help guide that process.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Well with Tack not accepting the change in leadership, I guess the chieftain won't change. If so, then I won't be joining with Azkul to found a settled tribe. I prefer staying in Effichen.

And when I think about it, the Patriarch isn't a absolute leader; he shares his power with the shaman and the trader.

And the master of the herds.

It's more that the people who know what they're doing just do their stuff and the Chief lets them be.

Do we have one?

Anyway, time for a proper turn.

Breed the ravens and continue trying to make an alphabet. Try teaching it to wife and others. Advise that we go south-east. Get my wife and the weaver to teach the ex-slaves proper weaving. Breed deer-creatures. Name them halla/s. Ask the Patriarch who exactly is the successor to the tribe when he dies.

That's why I suggested to travel towards the Kodana, they're reasonably friendly and are experienced in farming and could help with trade, assisting us with the transition to sedentism.

He's also the buffer zone between us and "modernisation", expanding the tribe is incredibly difficult while nomadic

He'll die soon...He's far too old for his time. And it's better to be nomadic for now anyway; we don't know how to farm nor do we have any great knowledge. We only have ravenry and adobe building.

I change my turn post:

Persuade the chieftain to travel towards the Kodana, with the aim of initiating trade.
Try to learn about shearing/weaving from whoever it was in the tribe that could weave/shear

He'll die soon...He's far too old for his time. And it's better to be nomadic for now anyway; we don't know how to farm nor do we have any great knowledge. We only have ravenry and adobe building.
Then I will try to redirect the tribe once he dies and after  (hopefully) initiating relations with the Kodana

No, but waiting for the chieftain to die
(I don't think life expectancy is any higher than 50)

I think Micelus is successor, though... That's the image I got.
So you'd have to overthrow Him after that, or convince the Big Man to take you as heir before he dies.

There is no successor as far as I know

I notice what Micelus is up to and attempt to show him some of the less dangerous or secretive symbols used by shamans to catalog or note areas of importance.

Continue with the tuition of the teens with Takanya, and the more specific tutelage of the Apprentice alone. This season, I'll be giving him the first steps in mixing unguents and medicines from the plants he knows. Most of it will be burn ointment (easiest stuff to make, and lasts the longest time) so the Apprentice and I both will be making a lot of it this season.

I'll also continue working on my new tent.

I don't have any desire to track injuries and wounds to that detail currently, so all that is happening is you are instructing him in generic medicine man.

As for the tent, I've been deliberately avoiding this subject for a reason. I'd like your guy's take on how the tent works in the El Clan, since it's gonna have to be addressed soon I guess.
