Jarod came into room, advanced towards the King and knelt.

"Thank you, your grace. I have come a long way and I braved many challenges to offer my services to the King of Elbreth, like my father before me. I can serve as a duelist or a bodyguard, and I ask for nothing more than the wages of a simple soldier for my services."

Offer my services to the King.

Suulians? What're they doing here, not that I really care? At least they have him distracted for now., thought Kytuzian. I hope I don't mess up in this. It could kill me.

Kytuzian quickly ran to a secluded area, then set up a fire. He then drew a ritual circle around it, and then several other symbols from his homeland. The distraction done, he made up fakes of the Zimtar region, using the real ones to produce misleading and deadly trails.

Escape to a secluded cave of medium size. Make a fire and some meaningless "rituals" and symbols. Make fake maps of the Zimtar region that will produce paths nearly impossible to reach, but even harder to go back, make sure they are passable and exist. Take the real Zimtar region maps, and stash them away with the other maps I am allowed to keep.

((Sorry for tons of bold.))

"Thank you my lord...But may I speak with you in private...for a moment?" Kain indicates the two other gaurds and signals for his own to leave.

Sometime later...Kain orders his men to remove the sigils on their armor and adapt the sigil of the Palace gaurd. Then they are to round up the tratiors and spies.

The King's Strategy Room, Late-Autumn...

"Certainly," Erik replied after a brief moment of thought, motioning for his remaining guard to leave as well. "What is it you wish to speak to me about?"

The King's Throne Room, Early Winter...

"I am pleased to hear that you wish to serve Elbreth," King Erik replied calmly, still studying the duelist, "But I've no need for a bodyguard, and I am quite capable of fighting my own duels." At the last statement, he did his best to avoid glancing to his mangled sword-hand, and revealing the truth of his situation: He hadn't even tried to pick up a blade, even after the wounds had fully healed.

He paused a moment longer, and then added, "But we may have need of you yet. My Steward will arrange a room for you, unless you would rather stay in the barracks?"

Later...

The Nahk raiders were disarmed the moment they arrived, letter or no. Escorted by a full compliment of guard as they entered the throne room, all eyes were upon them. Erik frowned slightly, eying the rag-tag and rather rough-looking band as he waited for them to introduce themselves.

In Sheepstead, Early Winter...

(Elfeater 1) You move to intimidate another businessman, this time a tavern owner and with your entire guard at your back. However, things quickly go south. You approach the bar and begin to make thinly veiled threats while your men begin to order drinks, but the barkeep quickly pulls a loaded crossbow from behind the bar. "Y'd do best to get the hell out of 'ere..." he begins, drawing the bolt back.

As he levels the crossbow with you, two off-duty members of the King's guards step into the room and quickly become apprised to the situation by a nearby patron. As they draw their own weapons, several of the patrons follow their queue and smash bottles or pick up chairs. "Halt in the name of the King!" one of the guards cries as a less violent patron slips out behind him, no doubt to alert the rest of the guard.

The King's Chamber, Early Winter...

"You may wish to take a look at this, Locanil," the King stated after the steward had left, handing the Grand Master's letter over to Locanil. He fell silent then, idly gazing at the fire as he waited for the Hatcuri Chronicler's response.

In the Rusty Pick, Early Winter...

(Meng 2) You can't find anything more about the cave people, as most people who you ask scoff and play it off as childish superstition. Something tells you there might be more truth to this tale of bogeymen though.

In the Southern Eelspine Range...

(Kytuzian) You've already escaped to a secluded cave, and so you get to work. (3) You make some crude symbols on the ground around your fire, but there's no telling how well they'll deceive these raiders. (1) However, in your haste you completely forgot your maps and parchment. You'll need to sneak back to the front to get them, and the guards probably aren't distracted any longer.

"A room would be welcome, your grace. I need nothing else than a bed, and maybe a chest for what money I still have."

When he had left Miring, he had not wanted to bring anything that would have slowed him down, and he had lost most of his money. However, what he had left was more than most soldiers in the barracks had ever seen, and he did'nt want any of them to steal his last possessions while he was sleeping.

It had only been a few short weeks since the battle of Preston. It came as a surprise to Knavston that the King would name Lord Terenos a Duke, but he knew better than to question the decision. Keeping the news of Trubaldsome's brothers would be something completely different. He doubted very much that news like that would be kept from a man like him for long.

Whatever quarrels the two had earlier in the year would have to be put aside for the good of these newly annexed realms.

Knavston bid his messenger to send for Terenos at his leisure. Let him know that the King brings news that he will enjoy.

"It seems, my lord, that the spirits of this place have answered our calls...A victory is won and the cyclist grandmaster is jubilant...It needs not be known that the spirits were the ones to aid us; I'm sure the truth would not be very good for the stability of the kingdom...It would benefit me somewhat but I very much doubt it would benefit the nation..."
"Anyway lord, is this all you ask of me? I have much work lord, and sometimes some great knowledge or wisdom is hidden in the old writings..."

The Mask strode into the room quickly, making sure to keep out of reach of the guards. Upon seeing the king, he stopped in the middle of the room, and bowed without kneeling or sweeping back his cloak.

"Greetings, your highness. I have come to discuss a business opportunity that has come to light. In light of the recent activity in the east, I have realized that your kingdom is missing an important member. You currently do not have a spy master. I wish to offer my services in that regard."

((Righto. Manning's actions will generally be hanging out with Terenos and practicing his swordplay.

And possible scouting north into theses eastern Weyland highlands. I trust Manskinner wont mind, I'm not interfering with his dominion, Im..aiding him. He doesnt have to worry about his east border, I get more land. Everyone wins!

Shoulda put this in the other thread. Oh well! OOC rambling. And iituem gets more of my plans. Which never helps.))

With her home affairs managed, Drua leaves her estate under the competent care of the steward and begins the trek back to Elbreth. Her few belongings neatly packed into a trunk and what little equipment she had stored at her estate neatly packed into her bags along with her ever-growing notes on cartography and herbalism. Her sword at her side and her canes out front with a few rough notes for the kind tucked in her pocket, the journey begins.

Return to Elbreth and update the King on her condition, the heroics of taking out an entire regiment, and ask for whatever forces can be spared to help maintain order in Miring.

Zandor, after a few days of resting and healing, returns to the palace. His quiver full, his sword shiny and face stoic, he bows to the king.
"My king, I am much better now, and I request that I lead the party to retake the village from bandit rule. I know much about the area, as I've lived there all my life, and I think I would be a able commander"
