((Okay this is my first GM post, so please let me know if I missed something or you feel like I did something wrong. Thatkid or Iiteum have full veto privilege!))
Doc Jognson, Jormund, and EhndrasEhndras assesses his numbers and equipment and begins his journey to converge with Jormund. If Jormund cannot be found, Ehndras will make his way to the lands Jormund possesses in hopes of meeting him, and guarding it against any threats.
(2) Proud of your newly trained warriors you insist on leading them towards Jormund's new lands yourself despite your injuries. Unfortunately you must have read the map incorrectly as you end up going in the complete wrong direction. This will delay your meet up with Jormund (3) Fortunately you're able to catch the mistake before it's too late and will arrive only a few days behind.
Let Jormund raise those ambush troops, but under the Manskinner's land. Take part in the battle against the other clan.
If allowed by Johnston, raise a regiment of ambush troops, either as my own or under the Jarls name, paying for them with the 2 ducats I discovered on the parcel of land. Request training from the veteran soldier and ask if he will aid me in the battle against the small clan if different tactics are needed. Once my troops and Ehndras' are ready go and fight the small clan that's imposing on my land and try and capture at least enough of them for 1 ducats worth of slaves.
(1) You spend
2 ducats to raise the Ambush troops. But it seems that the Clan has already tried to settle your land, you'll have to fight them.
The Battle of Weyland ValleyHaving raised your forces, Sir Jormind, and Doc Johnson arrive back to their newly claimed land to find the clan of barbarians trying to settle it themselves. They are obviously not skilled miners having spent most of their days conducting raids on neighbouring clans, but this doesn't stop them from trying as you see numerous pieces of mining equipment scattered about their camp. They will have a
+1 terrain advantage.Ehndras' troops do not arrive as scheduled, and you are forced to wait. (3) Thankfully you're able to keep your force hidden from the enemy's sentries long enough for them to arrive several days later. Your Ambush troops won't have a terrain bonus because the regular infantry negate it, but they will still provide a tactical bonus in your attempt to take slaves.
Forces in play:
Weyland: 1 Infantry, 1 Ambusher [Tactics +1]
Valley Clan: 1 Infantry
Round 1 Tactics:Jormund: As Ehndras' troops come into view of the Clan's camp, you decide to spring forward with your ambush troops and attempt to
capture as many as you can! [Req: 5 Roll: 3] Unfortunately seeing that you are trying to capture them causes them to fight even more furiously, they do not want to be taken alive! (-1 to ensuing melee)
Round 1 Battle:3+1 vs. 3+2-1 –
Draw (1 Clan infantry lost, 1 Weyland infantry lost)
The battle is bloody on both sides as the Valley Clan refuses to be taken alive, making the Weylanders pay for every single barbarian struck down. As always you may choose which regiment is destroyed.
[6] As you take control of the Clan's camp you notice that they may have been more successful than previously thought having mined out another
2 ducats of gold! However it's quite clear that this Valley clan is much bigger than anticipated and they'll want their land back. Expect them to try and take it back by force in the future.
Corvuse the riots, by spreading some of the Jarls men among the populace to heat the mood even more up and commit arson on Cyclist buildings. Make sure to leave evidence that points to the Orthodoxy...
(4) You and your men dressed in Orthodox monk robes find a large Cyclist gathering hall that is not guarded at night. (6) Easily breaking into the building, the wooden structure catches fire and spreads quickly... too quickly. Before you know it, the entire building is consumed in flames and now the whole block is catching fire. (4) Alarm bells are ringing now as people stumble into the streets to either combat the flames or just to see what's going on. Your men make sure to linger enough to be seen running from the scene. It doesn't take long before people all over the city are shouting angrily both for and against the Archbishop.
(3+1) The resent arson and murders prove the perfect catalyst for tensions to boil over, along with the fire, A Cyclist group start marching down the streets demanding justice and denouncing the Archbishop.
Suul is burning.
