Go loot the nobles estates.

Terenos assists with that. Much prior to linking up with any forces of Elbreth

((How many troops do I have? Details?))

Ehndras assesses his numbers and equipment and begins his journey to converge with Jormund. If Jormund cannot be found, Ehndras will make his way to the lands Jormund possesses in hopes of meeting him, and guarding it against any threats.

"...I have an odd feeling about this... Perhaps more of those dark creatures have returned... Regardless, I must discover Jormund's whereabouts and join him in his work. Perhaps I'll gain some experience, gear or coin out of it, or at least a good story to tell!"

An unspecialised infantry or infantry guard regiment is roughly equivalent to 100 men with spears; 300 unarmed, untrained peasants; 30 lightly armoured men with axes and maces; or twelve men in medium armour with swords and training.  The exact number varies (with personal guard units typically much smaller) but the amount of force is the same.

Following on from this logic, a Heavy Infantry unit might be twelve men in platemail armour or thirty in chainmail hauberks.  The amount of force is the important thing.  It doesn't matter if you're hiring 100 men or 12, it still uses up 1 unit of manpower (excluding the personal guard allowance).  This is because you're either taking 100 men arbitrarily from the population or just selecting the best 12.  It still uses up the general potential in this way.

Meng sitting outside the tavern taking a breath of the crisp air of the eelspine mountains, inside stinks of alcohol anyway, Percy is currently hunting for vermin whilst Buster sits at his side. Whilst fiddling with his crossbow a pageboy runs up to him, he sent him of not long ago to contact Kytuzian, strange he was back so soon.

"Well? What news do you bring, boy?" asks Meng in a gruff voice
"'e's gone, sir"
"What do you mean, gone?"
"Nobody seen 'im in weeks, sir!"
"Did they say where he went?"
"Well sir, I dunno 'bout that mayhap a couple shillings would what 'elp me remember"
"Stop calling me sir, urgh dammit gotta pay you now"

Meng growls cuffs the boy arround the head lightly and puts a shilling in his pocket

"I said couple of shillings, not one!" Another coin slips into the boys pocket
"'e was coming south from Elbreth 'eard he was spending a lotta time in this pub, the rusty pick I think"
Meng pauses, this might give Meng the action he was looking for and if he could help out this Kyutzian fellow surely gifts would be bestowed on him...
"Is that all?" interrupts the boy looking for more money
"Yes, of you go now"
"Sure thing... Sir!"

Meng had to love the cheek of that kid, when Percy returned for his hunt he set of to the rusty pick.

Talk to local peasants at the rusty pick, find out what they know about the recently missing Kyutzian.

Ludwig had walked the narrow streets of Elberth, brimmed by life. The letter he received from Philius says that his office is at the town square. As Ludwig walked to the square he saw how life was at Elberth. The outer parts of town were filled with thieves and prostitutes, selling themselves for puny prices. As he was nearing the town square he saw more merchants and craftsmen, life was better here. At the town square the buildings were all 2-3 storied, white fronts and there were people in expensive clothing walking in and out. On one of the buildings he saw the sign "Philius's transport". Entering the store he walked up to one of the clerks there and asked to see Philius, the clerk refused Ludwig's request stating that Philius is too busy to receive anybody. Ludwig calmly explained who he was and that Philius was expecting him. The clerk, upon hearing his name apologised to Ludwig and directed him to Philius's office, "Down that hallway and up to the 2nd floor, first door on the right.". Ludwig thanked the man and began his way to starting a life here.

As Ludwig opened the door he saw a big, well clothed man sitting at the desk and writing a letter. Upon hearing Ludwig enter the man looked at him and recognized him. Philius asked Ludwig on how his trip went and on how Ludwig's father was. He then proceeded to lead Ludwig to his lodgings. They exited through the 1st floor's backdoor entering a courtyard. The courtyard was very beautifully decorated by all kinds of flowers. They went straight across to a smaller section of a bigger house to the left of them, with a gate to the street on the right. Philius opened the door to the 2 story section with his keys and lead Ludwig in.

"This is your home here, it is well suited and comfortable. You will have your own pageboy and breakfast will be brought to you, dinner will be with us at the main building. You will find everything you need and I have set aside a Stallion for you at the stables. Oh, I will have a tea party tomorrow evening, you can make contacts there.", said Philius.

Ludwig thanked him for being so kind and gave him a very old wine as thanks. When Philius had left to his office, Ludwig laid down a map of the city on the table and began memorising it.

Got a place to live and a contact. Began memorising the city and made and appointment to meet the king at 11am.

((Do we have clocks yet?))

Chucking bodies down a ravine, wondered Kytuzian. Why didn't they give them a proper, or at least semi-proper burial? Speaking of which, I wonder what people think happened to me. Do they even care I'm gone? At least this...Nahk seems like a reasonable man.

"Can I have a flint and steel, something to burn, and a private section of the cave? The gods require that I pray now", asked Kytuzian.

Attempt to find the materials to make a fire, and then go to a private section of the cave.

Go to the king and request to be put in charge of the city guard after explaining the story of our attack (not the extortion bit)

The King's Court, Early Winter...

"The next person in line to speak, your liege, is a...Ludwig." Bjorn called. A moment later two guards escorted Ludwig into the throne room, which was bustling with courtiers, guardsmen, and village-folk. From atop his throne, King Erik waited for Ludwig to speak.

Later...

"My King, a Jarod Thunderblade wishes to meet with you!" Bjorn called into the throne room. The assembled courtiers fell to a hush at the name. Even in Elbreth, as far removed from Mirish politics as it was, the people had heard at least some word of the duelist's exploits.

A moment later, the man was ushered into the room by the guards. King Erik made no move to stand, a purposely bored expression on his face as the duelist was brought before him. "I have heard of you," Erik began, studying the duelist disinterestedly, "And of your father's...exploits alongside my own. Welcome home."

Even Later...

The King was impassive as he gazed at the man, some self-proclaimed knight who's hauberk was stained with blood. "I neither know of you, or if I can trust you." Erik replied calmly, "Why would I put you in such a position? Instead, you may describe the attack to Commander Leif, and he will lead his men in hunting these criminals down...assuming his guard has not already heard word of such a massacre."

In the Rusty Pick, Early Winter...

(Meng 2) You find no further information about the missing adventurer's whereabouts, though someone mentions that his two guards haven't been seen or heard from in some time, either. (6) You do hear mention of a raid on Stonewood two seasons ago, however, and rumors still abound of cave people who sneak up from the south to take away naughty children.

In Southern Eelspine...

(Kytuzian 5) You find a bit of flint amongst the rocks, as well as some other stone that you might use to make a spark. You're also able to procure some brush and wood without any of the raiders noticing. (3) Luckily, the raider's are hardly able to fill up the entirety of the cave, and you're able to find a nice niche in the areas further back. (5+1) If the Nahk wants you to remain in the front portion of the cave, he and his guards are too busy greeting some more raiders who have arrived at the cave to escape the winter weather, they are accompanied by what appears to be a captive Suulian family -- all bound and gagged.

Frustrated with only rumors and events which may or may not be connected to Kytuzian's disappearance Meng decides to continue his investigation before setting off with insufficient information. An important question rises in Meng's head:

Try and find out who these cave people are, or if they exist. Meng suspects they may have something to do with a raid mentioned by a somewhat tipsy tanner.
