Are you talking to me?  Because my desk might get a dent in it.

I use a Desert Eagle because I like breaking my wrist and connecting with one out of three shots.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

Bump.

Aqizzar mentioned performance issues, and they're very common in this game.  You have to add -noprefetch to the Target line in the shortcut properties to fix it.  This also lowers the ridiculous load times.

I'm in Red Forest now, heading for the Brain Scorcher.  I have a Vintorez, G36, and Dragunov.  While I still don't like the Dragunov like I like the Vintorez, it's not horrible anymore.

Well I'll just keep the Stone Flower artifact for sentimental junk and occasionally using when I go to a place with some Psi Emissions.

Holy crap I found a Kolobok (One of the rarest and useful artifacts in the Zone.) In a chemical anomaly before I even left the swamps! (I had to restart due to messing up the main quest line.)

Call of Pripyat's sounds are bad, and sound mods aren't working for me.  It's a dealbreaker.

I just started playing Call of Pripyat. I was walking to the closest camp (can't remember the name) after being told about its location by a friendly stalker, when I noticed there was a gunfight in front of me. I approached with caution and met a group of six bandits or so shooting at something, so I immediately thought they were killing stalkers, whose dead bodies I found (and looted).

Heck no, I was wrong. Apparently they're hunting down (or rather, being hunted by) that mutant that could turn invisible. I tried to interfere but the mutant was just too quick for me to be able to do a full burst on its face. The bandits got killed one by one by it. Frustrated, I went berserk and started to fire continuously at random direction, before I got clawed on my back and died.

Man, this game just started and after only five minutes of walking, I was already into action. <3 STALKERS series!

Fuck yeah, the invisible dudes.  I was going through the Agroprom mission, stalkan my way through the basement.  After killing the bandits, I made a sneakier attempt on the soldiers.  I thought they were in the next room, but after preparing a bit, they had moved on somewhere.  I snuck across the boiler room and saw their flashlights in the hallway.  I got out a grenade and prepared to ambush.

Suddenly, that weird snarling noise I had been hearing for a minute became very very loud, and I saw the air distorting and shadows moving.  Moving fast.  Holy shit.  I get swiped across the face, panic, and throw my grenade at my feet.  Luckily, I dived just far enough behind a column that I wasn't killed instantly, and the shadow reeled a bit from the blast.  He managed to get another swipe on me while I fumbled my sawed-off out, and gave him two in the face.

I stood there frozen in shock and pride for a second, then I got shot by the soldiers from the hallway who heard the commotion and came running.  I still wasn't quite dead, dived back behind the column, and shot Combines in faces with my AK, as they came around the corner one-by-one, climbing over each other's heads Three Stooges style.

It's a pretty awesome game.  I still remember the cold and empty feeling I had when I went back by Fox's shack, after tag-teaming bandits and mutants and soldiers with him like a half-dozen times, only to find he'd finally met his match with a pack of blind dogs while I was away.  Poor guy.

My Fox got killed during a blowout because he couldn't get himself through the door, seriously he kept running into the wall next to the door until he died.

You know, I never got why these 6 Loners at their base in Cordon never find shelter in blowouts. Sometimes they just chill around eating their fancy diet sausages and cheap bread. What does food ever do in the games before CoP anyway?

Very slight health recovery, and probably a little stamina as well. Vodka reduces radiation but causes your aim to sway a little, energy drinks restore most of your stamina.

If you don't eat you starve to death in SoC, and ostensibly in Clear Sky too, but I never had to eat in that. :/

I said S.M.R.T.E.R. and Ill say it again. Hell if you don't like the mod itself just use the sounds.

I didn't like SMRTER.  I gave up anyway, it just wasn't as good as SoC.
