And then I went to play Civ V, and she started lecturing me about how I was disrespecting Ghandi.
I know this is pretty terrible for you, but it's also fucking hilariously preposterous.
I know! I accidently culture bombed Gandhi's lands trying to hit the Chinese and so he declared war. Then my mom started yelling about how I was disrespecting his memory or something. It's a video game!

And I got yelled at by both my parents, and now I'm home alone crying as the rest of my family goes to my cousin's birthday party.

Speaking of birthday parties, I haven't gone to one for someone outside of my family for around 5 years. I haven't even gone out with friends at all since last January... And before that is was... Never? Yeah, I don't get invited out.
The only reason I went to the one in January was because some friends and I won free movie passes. So I was kind of hoping to be able to go out a second time, but no. That can't happen.

Should I be laughing at this? I probably shouldn't be, but I am.

I think I'm improving. I'm slowly changing sads and depression for anger and rage, that's pretty sweet, anger gets shit done, so hopefully I'll do something about the stuff that makes me angry.

Not sure why this is sad, I guess it started out as sads and still mostly is :S

My folks put on Doctor Who in the background while we were putting up the holiday decorations. Man, some of this is a lot cheesier than I remember.

He was worse in Civ IV. Like, much worse. Almost as bad as sodding Shaka.

Quick trivia note; it's not just a rumor that Gandhi nukes more than the other leaders in Civilization...

...Each leader in the game had an "aggression" rating, and Gandhi - to best reflect his real-world persona - was given the lowest score possible, a 1, so low that he'd rarely if ever go out of his way to declare war on someone. Only, there was a problem. When a player adopted democracy in Civilization, their aggression would be automatically reduced by 2. Code being code, if Gandhi went democratic his aggression wouldn't go to -1, it looped back around to the ludicrously high figure of 255, making him as aggressive as a civilization could possibly be.

Arithmetic Underflow; making games confusing and hilarious since 1972.

I thought the devs made him as aggressive as possible to spite people who complained he was just as aggressive as other leaders in a previous iteration of the game.

I mean, I read it on the internet so it must have been true.

Just got news that Alice Glass has left Crystal Castles.
On the bright side, I look forward to whatever she produces on her own.

I read on the internet that they coded it similarly in later games to continue the joke. :D

I heard one of his dialog lines in Civ V is literally "Our words are backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!" in Indian.

Peaceful protest... Through superior firepower.

Ha! That's what happened in my little brother's game yesterday... Gandhi went to war on him and china and just nuked half the planet. Then sent helicopter gunships and ballistic missiles to destroy any survivors.
Hooray for "random" personalities!

That's probably what she was mad about actually...
