I feel terrible.

We (my family) just went out to look at a kitten and possibly adopt it.
When we got to the owner's home, the owner's daughter met us at the door.
She looked very upset, and throughout the time we were there she looked so sad.
We ended up taking the cat, and as we were leaving she looked about ready to cry.

She never said a word.

You know what you have to do now.
Make sure to care well for the cat and have it live a long healthy and happy life.
Make that little girl proud to have given it away to owners who care for their pets.

It's 8 weeks old, and has started eating dry/wet food.

So, I got a list of things my classmates like about me.
It was mostly "You are very real" with a few "You are always yourself".
(So I exist, and am not a changeling. :P)

But now I feel sad because apparently my pretending to be someone/thing I'm not skill is high enough I fool everyone. Since I didn't already sometimes feel bad for lying to everyone...
I just constantly pretend to be someone else so I don't get hurt. And apparently I'm good enough to fool people I've known for 10 years or more.

No, don't feel bad about that. People who say that you should always be yourself are blatantly wrong to begin with. Being able to hide emotions (not suppress, mind, just keep them out of an immediate situation) and act differently around different people is an excellent and very important social skill.

. . .You mean unwanted or detrimental emotions.
While, yeah, hiding em does work at times--in the long-run, it won't do much good: there's a reason to hide, and when the reason is discovered not to exist omnipresently around you, then that's where better things happen.

No, by hiding emotions/thoughts you can help things go by smoothly. If my sister had understood this, she wouldn't have told the woman from her church that was telling me about the atheist who had done her hairdressing (who, according to her, "knew too much, that's the problem, faith is so simple, don't you agree?") that I felt the same way.

Cue a very long talking to by a Christian who believes that bad people bring evil spirits into the house of God.

No, hiding certain emotions/sentiments is definitely good in the long run, depending on situation obviously.
You know, "If you have nothing nice to say" and all that. Telling people how shit they are causes many more problems than just avoiding them does.

...I think you guys missed my point. Or my wording was messy.
Most likely the latter.
I meant to not hide when in company you know is to be trusted. That's when you can safely let your guard down. In other occasions where the possibility of hostility is likely, it is not not bad to hide. :P

Bluh. Looks like I have to wait at this train station for two hours or so. :-/
Everything is so hard to get to and from from where I live currently.

Atleast you can use the train. Despite passenger service running thru the town I am in, if you want to go anywhere you have to walk or drive. The so-called bus "service" is a joke. Three buses a day.

Well, today has been great so far. [/sarcasm]
I got up, my mom started trying to make me feel guilty about not going with the rest of my family to a Christmas thing (which I didn't go to because she didn't tell me about it until half an hour before we left and I had already made plans with friends... Which she canceled, so I stayed home lonely instead)

And then I went to play Civ V, and she started lecturing me about how I was disrespecting Ghandi. And then she decided to take away my computer for the day.

I know this is pretty terrible for you, but it's also fucking hilariously preposterous.
