It's a conspiracy!  We must keep posting until we are recognized! RECOGNIZED!  I don't really care a half-tooth anyway, just need two people for a succesion game anyway.

Maybe I should make things more interesting.

[trAPAVIOD] [FIREBREATH]/[FIREIMMUNE] [SIZE:16]?

Umm....I don't want our fort to die the next siege.  If you lower that size a little bit and get rid of the firebreath, maybe will get somewhere.  I think what you just posted broke rule #1.  ;D

EDIT: Make sure to train some more military for the next onslaught!

Allright! Now I can start recording everything that happens in the fort once again!

I wonder what the body counts going to be next siege.  If we have to, I think 140 or whatever the number is recruits can take out a dozen Orc Bowmen, right? RIGHT?  Hmmm.  Or we can just raise the wall.  That's not as fun though, how would that be put in the story.  WHATEVER!  I'm probably going to post some Journal Entries from Author soon.

[OOC] Story time!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

16th Hematite, 208, Early-Summer:

I finally found my damn journal, it was smashed up in the animal stockpile...  Anyway, 'Zon' our trader had been telling me that 'Arrrrrggghh' wanted to lead this fortress (don't tell the Mayor that he thinks he is "actually" in charge) I told 'Zon' fine, if he can do better than me, fine.  What a good choice I made, the instant I gave command to 'Arrrrrrggghh' he got to work.  I realized how bad a leader I was!  He revamped our stockpiles, finally got the animals in cages, made a ton of bins we needed, and he fought off a medium siege with only two causalities!  Our FPS is raising too he said, whatever that means.  The only thing that troubles me is he is sortof.....well......insane,crazy,etc.  I also have a very bad feeling when the Orcs come again...I think they are catching on to our traps finally.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:  'Zerg' not 'Zon'   :-\   That was his Dwarf name.

19th Hematite

I've decided to trade useless orcish junk after seeing that the rest of our trade goods were somewhere deep with in the mounds of junk in this fortress.

20th of Hem

Zerg our trader hasn't shown up to trade with the humans, it seems she cares more about eating.

23rd Hematite ES

Zerg seems to be in a meeting with our mayor... I may have to take drastic measures to get her to trade.

24th Hematite

"MOTHER TREE! THE BEES BE POLLINATING OUR HOMES!" "Get off of me tree loving scum!" Screamed Will Smith DeathQuests local hammerer, with a mighty dwarven kick she knocked the insane elven merchant to the ground. "Foul scum I shall put you out of your misery!" said Will Smith as she shoved the elf underneath the draw bridge. Click

"Huhuhuhu."

*SQUISH*

27th of Hematite

Zerg has been too preoccupied with her "Meeting" so I have promoted a local Potash Maker to be our forts trader.

Ah, I should also mention I'm training up some proper troops for our fortress, in case the orcs come in so many numbers that our traps are not enough to deal with them.

28th of Hematite

Amazing! The humans had much to offer to us! They brought mountains of meat, a rivers supply of booze, and some decent metals! Here's hoping that the rest of year goes well!

1st of Malachite, 208, Mid Summer

Today as I woke up I saw one of our dwarfs, a trapper move around in our fields, looking around to see if anyone were watching her, almost as if she had gone to bath in a river, looking for prying eyes. Sensing no one was watching she promptly grabbed one of our Plump Helmets, and went off in the western direction, usually I would have thought of this as nothing, but her earlier activity made me follow her.

I quickly, and carefully made my way into the dining room, I saw no sign of the trapper, than for whatever reason I still do not know of I checked the cage room. I saw the trapper holding out the Plump Helmet towards one of the cages, I moved closer.

"What is the meaning of this." I asked calmly to the trapper, she jumped in surprise, and turned my way. I could see that her cloths were still in good shape, and that her body looked like they had never held a child within them. "E-eatting, what's it to you?" she answered back, I took note of the stutter, and the fact she did not look me in the face. "In the cage room?" "Yes" "Why not the dining room over there?" "I- don't know" "You're not just feeding the prisoners are you?" She looked towards me, I had her cornered. "Well?" I said prodding into the situation, she stood dumbly, and I went for the kill.

"TREASON! I see!" "NO!" the trapper screamed, running out of the prisoners room. I did not intend for the situation to go in this direction, but I ordered the guards to retrieve this suspicious dwarf. They dragged her into my office, she was a bit roughed up, a cut across the arm, and a bit of beard ripped off, but never the less alive. The guards said they found her locked in her room, they had to bust the door down, and she seemed to put up some fight. The incident seemed to bring up a lot of attention, and I told the guards that if anyone ask she tried stealing from me.

That would be because last year in the summer I requested every type of food at max priority, booze too.

Heh, when I heard about the Trapper giving food to someone, I thought for some strange reason it was a locked-up dwarf baby.  ???

I was thinking of making that some sort of story arc, buuuuut. I'm being forced to go somewhere for this Christmas week, which I don't know who long it will be, so the next person to sign up for this can take care of making a story out of that, because I need to go to New Jersey for X number of days.

Save

So have fun for who ever is next!

Don't forget to give your orcs [trAPAVOID] [DAMBLOCK:-2] and [SIZE:10]. ;D

Well good luck on that. We are the only two who have bothered to post here in the last... now forty posts. I'm also guessing that everyone else is busy with their holidays as well.

Update maybe tommorow, most likely, but as we know Holidays can be a real Dwarf Fortress killer.

Well good luck with that, also I'd like to point out that you should really think about putting workshops closer to their corresponding materials.

18th Malachite, 208, Mid-Summer:

Looks like I'm in charge again, 'Arrrrrrrggghh' went into hibernation somehow, I don't know really.  Whatever happened, I'm in charge now.  I been setting things up correctly now, or as well as I ever will.

I've put beds in the barracks and told our military to sleep in the barracks, hopefully they will be able to defend our fortress properly.

I also saw the Humans leaving today, we got alot of food like I requested so we should be all set.

We're going to chop some tress down while it's still summer.  (I've found out that sieges never strike twice in one season, yet.)

You should really consider an outside tree farm, you have more than enough space for one too.
