Am I in heaven?
-edit- OMG NOOOO
I JUST PREsSED SOME KEY AND IT TELEPORTED ME TO EARLIER SAVE :(
M SO TOTALLY NOT PLAYING THIS GAME ANYMORE FOR NOW :(

You can't pick up items in moongates, it would make the game boring and people would just make moongates with every good item ever and the game would stop being fun.

Well then that makes Moongates pointless...

Elona is a game where I seriously wonder how it got to version 1 with so much that needs to be tweeked, fixed, and added.

Then again... People don't HAVE to follow the version system.

(I'm ignoring the rest of your post due to ignorance)

Saying moongates are pointless is rather stupid, just because you can't get mad lewt from a moongate doesn't mean it's not neat to just go and see. If you just go to the moongates and expect free shit to be handed to you, youre probably playing the wrong kind of game, it's a roguelike, not a MMO.

That causes a problem onto itself by destroying the progression.

It needs a purpose otherwise it is pointless.

Sorry if I don't believe in the almighty power of "Eyecandy" (That and from the screenshots they are set up rather badly)

Also I don't know why your offended that there is no real point to moongates... There isn't much of a point to the Garbage system either other then for missions that make little sense as it is.

So you call me ignorant... and then you make this statement?

Quote
Moongates are other player's areas

Now that makes a lot more sense. Though while it makes me understand its existance... it doesn't really change my oppinion of it though it does mean there is a point.

Actually on second thought... it makes it seem worse then when I thought it was just a unfinished gameplay aspect.

Last time I attempted to go in a moongate I ended up surrounded by locked doors.

I was so confused.

The guide says not to enter moongates without teleportation.

That's for the bubble room. There is also a minimum amount of lockpicking you need to open all the doors in the locked door moongate. That one is really just there for training lock-picking.

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.

Yeah your right I was a bit off. It was more about taking advantage of Moongates then surviving them

Yeah so your right.

I am still trying to break out of my loosing streak. Anyone know a good way to kill those Jugglers? They arn't too too difficult but unless I run like the wind they quickly tear me appart.

Actually a better guide for people starting out then the Wiki has would be helpful. They just give general tips. (Ohh IVAN, I got so far... but that Enner beast annoys me!)

From the sound of it, ores should be used to make materials or metals or something. Maybe they're placeholders.

EDIT: I got two monster dreams in one night, causing my arms to get strong (STR+3) and causing me to be delighted by the taste of human flesh. The game calls them mutations but they sorta sound like Sniper Joe corruptions.

Mutations can be good or bad, and they are unrelated to the Ether disease, in fact you can get them voluntarily by drinking a potion of mutation/evolution (the latter is more likely to grant a positive one). Ether corruptions are always bad (with a good side effect sometimes), and they are cumulative because of Ether wind (I think they go up even without ether wind, but very slightly. Or being attacked by Wisps), and having enough of them will kill you, and require a rather expensive potion to cure.

Are they still seriously working on Elona?

Also my house (the one you start with) isn't going up in rank anymore even though I put more stuff in it... what is happening? Maybe I need to dump out the junk.

Heh, does having more then one salary chest do anything? (I somehow assume not)

One more... uggg... Where is the Maid?

The starting cave has a limit on how many items of furniture count towards rank. A very low limit, like 15 or so.

Nope.

Around. I just make the starting cave about 4x4 with the house board so I don't have to search for the maid.

Oh yes, etherwind used to scare me, but now I seem to be running into potions of cure corruption at every corner. On top of that, I'm Elea, so it's even less of a deal.

I still find random mutilating mutations more dangerous than etherwind, however. They're a nuisance later on but they can murder your character early on, which I find amusingly true to the Roguelike philosophy.

"Are they still seriously working on Elona?"

They? It's one guy, and he is.

Agreed, at least Ether disease can be removed without risking nuking your good mutations.

As for mutations... It isn't too long until you get Anti-mutation items... at the same time in my experience Anti-mutation often includes anti-alien
