Kanders shakes his head, moving on.

He had to see if there were going to be any more traps himself, it seemed...

Ayzebel

It is becoming abundantly clear  that the creature has no real understanding of your words - it stares mutely, the fear creeping back. A moment passes before it lifts one of its arms, gesturing down the corridor to the junction.

Kanders

Glancing briefly through the open door, and seeing only a very simple room - a chair and table, bare but for a dirty plate - you proceed to the junction. On either side the corridor continues slightly until it reaches a door. To the left, the door is wooden and warped - the hinges however are rust free, as though they are often used. To the right, the door is made on unornamented iron, and seems in much better condition - however, a thin layer of dust sits on the floor before it, undisturbed. Both has writing scratched into the stones above them.

On closer inspection, the writing appears to be in a wide variety of languages - some you recognise from your explorations, though you cannot translate them, and one is that which you currently speak. To the left, you read the word ‘Quarters’, and to the right… one is certainly in the same alphabet, but it reads ‘Jharym’. You couldn't say what it means.

Action: Sneak over to the right fork, and find out what 'Jharym' is. Try not to make too much noise. Retreat if confronted. I also assume I don't know what the word means?

The word is unfamiliar.

Regina merely shrugged, pushing her way past.

"I don't, and no one else seems to, so I'm going to go find out. I'll be back in a moment, probably..."

Ask the creature about the word.

Felicity

The creature visibly calms as you replace Ayzebel. However, a hint of panic enters its eyes at the mention of the word ‘Jharym’. It blurts out, once more, ‘Master!’ - this time however, there seems to be something different in the tone. If its previous responses were intended to be questioning, this seems much more like an answer.

Regina

You head down the right fork, pausing at the door. A quick check reveals a keyhole, which you promptly glance through. Through this limited view, you can see what appears to be some kind of bars in a far wall - likely a portcullis - behind which is a staircase. You can also see what appears to be the corner of a desk, overflowing with papers. Before your eyes a red robed elbow flashes briefly into sight over the desk, before vanishing again off to the side. Its owner is likely sat at the desk. The room seems relatively well lit.

Embrus

You stand in the corridor. Looking back towards the ladder, through the open door, the limp arm of the guards corpse hangs round the corner. Turning to your right, you can see the door from which the creature came. Inside is a lit torch, a table, and a chair. Both table and chair are well worn and filthy, and a plate that doesn’t look to ever have been cleaned sits atop the table.

Right again lies the rest of the corridor - the t-junction lies at its end, but between you and it are the two creatures. The closest lies dead, its left eye socket a bloody mess. Ayzebel’s discarded bar sits beside it. Beyond the corpse lies the live creature, around which Ayzebel and Felicity stand. Its mace lies discarded nearby.
