Griffon's paranoia on cultists is kinda strange, but I guess NQT could be a cult leader.
Could also be Vector if the crown is anything to go by. Or Tiruin who seems adept at duplicating spells (thinking a replace with body double type of cult). Or you who has yet to claim anything, but seems to have more information against Tiruin than you're sharing.
Weelll, on a flavor note, I have no idea what Web was thinking >_>
Also, yay for no stress levels as of the moment. <3 Physics/Theology professors. Parodying life and semantics. Also
2, I just looked back at the time on my posts...My break was one darn hour. Now I get what Ford meant by that one post back in D1 on taking due time...Happy thought: Yay 70+ wpm.
To define the word 'define'...Definition and given meaning. Its a real shocker when you find out that everything you know about giving meaning/asking to define a word in a given subject turns into discussion other than defining it...
I've had too much University. Just saying... XP
...Ok, that's enough of me being ecstatic.
I'm pretty damn sure ZU is scum based on how he's twisting my words. See below.
Cutting short:
1. I don't think they're irrelevant. In fact this is a pretty good example of you being dismissive. And ignoring all other questions.
2. I was talking about being confident in my read. Way to misrepresent my argument.
3. Defending you by attacking me. Its not stopping or hindering me, but its still chainsawing.
1. Look at how you ellipsis'd that one question. I'll answer it in full here so there's no misunderstanding (It's relative > the definition of Standard/Non-standard game)
Yea, it is relative because
Why do you call BYOR a "nonstandard" game? What constitutes a "standard" game?
BYORs are nonstandard due to the fact that the player roles are sent in
by the players. That constitutes critical thinking and a different approach to scumhunting than standard games. Standard games follow the principle of the Mod being the one to distribute the roles and knowledge of roles. Just like Bastard Mafias games falling under nonstandard, the word standard pertains to the common category.
Which means, where most people derive their scumhunting/playstyle from.
2. Way to misunderstand. I asked you before that:
That was your response to this question, right? Because if so, then that's just stupid.
You react to the side commentary. Nice one scumbag.
3. ...
Defending/Chainsawing: Defending just means what it sounds like: saying things to defend another player's actions or words. Chainsawing or chainsaw defending means attacking someone who's attacking another player in an attempt to get them to stop. The idea in both instances is that townies don't know if their fellow players are innocent or not, and hence have no real reason to defend them from legitimate persecution. Scum, on the other hand, know they're on a team and so are prone to not wanting their buddies found out or pressured.
See the formatting. Was Griff putting words into my mouth to
explain things for me? That constitutes defending. He never,
ever did such. He didn't even give an opinion like "Tiruin seems to just be-..." "I'm guessing its her local language being..." or any of that.
Nextly, I see a lot of snarky passive aggression regarding those who are poking you. False accusation of chainsawing;
"It would help if you stopped being scum." without showing any inclination to counter Griff's arguments;
Listing Griffy's posts beforehand: "
But. It's.
Chainsawing." Because he's stating his own thoughts which are contradicting your mindset.
Yeaaaahhhh. You really deserve that sleep after slipping up.
That is being obstinate, good sir.
1. Please list your suspects and reasons they are suspicious.
Toaster - Reading null > Haven't had the time to get a read on him much.
Deathsword -> zombie urist - Scummy scum scum. Or just overworked busybody who really misunderstands much and tunneled too deep...
- Reading confused - Yea, let it be known that he gets town points for that whole debacle on his lovers thing. Never has this young one seen such a ploy enacted wherein many snippets of information be hidden and brought out one by one as if in a stage play.
Urist Imiknorris > Same with Toaster, IIRC, less posts...
- Haven't had much to look into her, leaning null/towny. Her point regarding Deathsword being scum D1 sounded more like a conclusion than anything else however judging by the votecount with the flavor of my sunflower in it she's voting for NQT instead (DS > ZU). While she is bogged down by college (Yeah...:/) her posts are direct to the point and down to earth with their approach.
That one thing about the crown D1 was pretty strange though.
- Null/towny while his posts are also in the line of I'm busy, try to post later, it's how he uses them to get answers is what I was looking at. The recent things regarding Toaster was...pretty strange seeing that he did claim that he inspected Toaster
last night as compared to what he's doing right now - because its pretty strange in the way the power works.
Tiruin - Is me. Am Town.
- Joy Wizard: Lynched Day 1 -...Yeah. Pretty much didn't have the time to look over his posts D1 other than what he did at the day end. Which was pretty confusing in itself on why he unvoted without giving a straight answer. Was thinking it was RL getting to him along with the manner in how he unvoted...
Read: Dead and lynched for Due Process of the lynch. Wherein Due Process here means a limitation - my reply was in retort of his post, wondering how in the world scum would out themselves in the way of...good reasoning being a vote reason but moreso in how he addressed me. He had a build up which was 'why I was voting TolyK', followed by that reason of good reasoning.
The proceeding unvote along with the clear statement of when his next post added to the confusion. Was in the line of null/scum at the time.
-...He's playing? o_O
Yeah, that's my first impression when I went back to copy paste this whole list of names. Vanished in a second where memory kicked in on his posts D1.
That aside, it's pretty much Null given that he's...been absent from the forums for quite a long time with no explanation. Hopefully nothing bad had happened to him IRL. Null due to the fact that I can't quite get anything from his posts but inquisitiveness - he's poking at some fine points there, credit given, but still in the null category.
- Town. If I've an explanation for it, it would be that he's really acting the town-player thing seriously. It's not perfect in a 'doubtful, he may be scum playing it safely' way, but its a manner of 'astute guy, he's vigilant and pretty much letting his curiosity free'. If he's scum, then kudos to the newbie. Reminds me of Hapah in his debut game.
Granted, this one is still in play and over 40 darn pages. While I could ascribe his method of placating points and logic'ing things out to reading all the past Mafias; it is in the field where your mettle is tested and I'm pretty much happy to see this guy fare as such. That, and much more which would be too long to explain given that its emotion speaking to me in a hard to translate to English manner.
Whatever, Griff speaks Town to me. If scum > me crying tears of awe. The latter statement is thrown into the rubbish bin when compared to anything else I've said because I'm holding him in respect here.
That...and other things considered about his behavior and such.
- Null leaning partly newbie town; While his case is understandable from his admitted tunnelvision of me, he's going through the scientific process of cyclic reasoning. It's like reforming and restating lines out of some intangible thing (in the line of logic) which is hard to prove - the target lying about one post which was already posted, the crime being when it was posted and somehow...what I see, the motives under that. I mean, I had a lot of
other material given out during that time (46 pages and counting...) and nothing is surfacing about what else he's poking at that acts as conclusive evidence on me = scum.
On a
re-read, this is one of the many things pointing out to me that despite his mistakes...it doesn't look like anything he's doing is in a scummy fashion. It's all reasonable, but the basis lies in how reasonable the points he's putting lies.
While this is pretty much his first regular game, minor mistakes aside, I can see he's trying hard and
not denouncing me in an abject 'scum>town' manner despite his claim of 'My vote on you is scum vote'. Currently, he's branching off. He's honest about his works (I mean, admitting tunneling? Damn gutsy scum, most probably with an experienced partner if so) and I guess it's quite settled that he thinks me as scum given that prospect - nothing else to discuss on that matter.
Why I'm poking at him was to check on his intentions and how he's addressing them. Given that case, it's quite clear that he's being sincere about it. And yet lacking about it.
Reading null/townish. Stated before, getting reads on the hard to read/different playstyle people was pretty much hard given the reactions before (which strangely only poked mostly at the post regarding TolyK D1), however seeing how he replies to me and in regard to how his suspicions lie, I'm pretty much not seeing that vibe of scumminess in him. While there is the usual banter and humor which I can't relate to, there is also that certain sort of curiosity in what I saw in his replies (preceeding any jokes he did) which doesn't sway me in any scummy way.
- Read Townish D1 given what we conversed about. D2...it's pretty much slipping into the territory of "what the hell is this guy thinking" and giving me a readback on his posts. He is settled in the domain of the grey. Confused? No. Null until further questioning because I can't quite grasp that sudden shift of attitude from 'open and explanatory' to 'seemingly picky about words'.
Townish, despite him being new-ish.
I mean, looking back at the guy. He's pretty much putting the game into the field with his posts. I can see how he's determined to get whatever he wants to say up front and face the consequences regarding such. Yea, he feared for his life back then - came across as newbie flailing with concussive flails, but then @ D2, his attitude has significantly improved.
Hadn't had much time to read in on the matters of that thing with NQT/Vector and the "See What I Did" matter. And he gets my admiration for being a strapping young lad...Meaning: he doesn't care if he makes mistakes. Regarding that D1 thing - while he did go all
PPE:
Saved this in notepad before going off until this post.
NQT:Toaster
Okay, Mister Information, why don't you tell us what you did last night, then?
Not in town's interests to say yet.
(Will answer outstanding questions when not at work, later)
Town's interests, huh? Isn't information, town's interests? Why are you using that for the main reason, and in the continuing posts of yours, why is towns' interests the main reason on that?
Wait,
what are towns interests for you anyway?
hereI decide to give it to two players that gave very town responses, in order to create a mason chat.
"Very town" responses? Oh dear. Anyone can do that.
Is there any real reason you gauged and judged based on that?
I'm annoyed with myself and I decide to let people know about the dangers of the flavour text.
You mean the PM flavor text. The votecount flavor text has no correlation with anything else, as far as I see. The only thing that had something to latch on was Vector's crowning D1...which could be attributed to her testing Web's games - still strange in a way that this is a BYOR as compared to the others in which bold/italics poke at the flavor.
Meanwhile, I have learned in the night that if Vector had a night action, Zrk2 was the target. As Zrk2 seems fine, this makes me trust her slightly more than I did and I decide to share the info as well.
"IF". "ZRK".
Whaa?
Vector did not do anything as she said.
TolyK:Shaky logic syndrome: sounds right when you write it, not when you read it.
That's no excuse, though.
Clarify? I don't get how this makes sense...Anyway
NQT, you have two very good reasons to earn my trust (though you might not know it). Please explain everything that you did, in order, from the first day, and the reasoning behind it. About 1-2 sentences each. And in between everything that you know that happened.
You have exact reasons and a method for him to state it?
If there's a bit that you really want to say about information, spit it out. Dancing around the bush an stating that you did have the same idea about him days before (Early D2) and still going along this line sounds like impracticability for me.
Ranger:ZU: I see no scumminess in Tiruin's posts but yours have slowly creepped into scumminess for me. You've more or less just tunneled her (mafia tunnel not DF tunnel) for the past few pages and had evidence that i don't see the scumminess in for all of your points. My vote goes to you until i see someone else scummier.
...Until you see someone else scummier. Uh huh.
Isn't that "until you can[...]" or "Until you provide clear[...]"? No. It's until I see someone else scummier.
Wat.
