Undead horses...

Well that was a new one. 

"I guess that answers the question eh?"

Gamble twirled his staff around, while stepping closer to the other two, then slammed it into the ground.

"Prepare for combat but yell for assistance." he said between teeth. "I will take vanguard, stay back help me take them down while I try to keep them away from you."

"Hey! I'm not that fragile you know." He said indignantly.  He was sure with all the confidence of someone who had never had to deal with an angry horse before that it wouldn't be any problem at all.

Take one step Right(16 AP), Summon a Lesser Arcane Elemental (30 AP, 10 MP), then cast Fire Missiles [Two on the closer one, one on the other] (25 AP 8 MP), and then use Arcane Bolt on the closer one (25 AP)  [Total: 96 AP 18 MP]

[Entirely Optional Battle Music Because Why Not?]

The horses begin to clear a frightening amount of ground in very little time. Varkhal steps towards the enemy, Bane in hand while Gamble does some fancy Staff-twirling. Both of them then summoning Elementals in unison, as Sia moves back to stay out of any direct combat.

The Horses continue to move closer as Varkhal enters a more defensive stance - Three brilliant bolts of flame passing by him and striking the horses - The first two to the Nearest of them, (Dealing 6 + 7 Fire Damage) and the last striking the Second. (Dealing 10 Fire Damage)

The horses both shrug off the damage caused by the fire missiles striking them. Behaviour that -  If you weren't already sure they were undead - would be somewhat disturbing.

Varkhal and Gamble's Elementals both target the Nearest Horse, casting their respective spells - both of which are right on target. (8 Water Damage + 10 Arcane Damage)

Varkhal casts Stone Ward, conjuring a smooth disc of stone that floats up and places itself between him and the Horses, acting as a shield - And Sia assists him even further by casting Stoneskin. A thin layer of a strange, flexible-yet-tough stone forms over his skin.

Gamble casts Arcane Bolt on the Nearest Horse, striking it. (Dealing 11 Arcane Damage)

Varkhal then continues to beat the dead Horse by casting Holy Light on it. One blinding flash of light later and 25 Light Damage has been dealt. However, now both of the horses go from their rather blank stares to seemingly focus on Varkhal, as if they only just noticed him.

The Elementals respond by smacking the Horse about with two more spells, but both of the horses still seem intent on trampling Varkhal. (8 Water + 10 Arcane Damage Dealt)

The horses are now nearly on top of Varkhal, only moments from running straight over him - And then probably kicking or gnawing on him a little, if he survives.

Leeroy wanders out on his own, searching through the area Aerus and Wendell had explored. It isn't long before he finds the tracks of an animal: A wolf of some sort, heading to the East.
Unless there's another cave that way, the wolf probably died when the mist passed through...

Meanwhile at the Cave...

The rest of the group sits around in the mouth of the cave, waiting for Gamble, Sia, and Varkhal to return. Though it's been a while now... Hopefully they've just decided to head relatively far in search of hills, and aren't in any danger.

The group follows Leeroy back to the spot where he had found the tracks, and they follow them through the forest and to the East - Until they lead to a bend in the road that you had been traveling along by carriage...
