The nobles often become generals because it is the most respected position of their society... And because they don't want commoners to take their place in the high ranks. Land is attributed to competent landless generals, but they pass it on to their children, which leads to a certain stagnation - the military may be meritocratic, but the nobles have an enormous headstart since their children have an education that allows them to start out as officers.

I'm a bit confused on what makes one nobility in a land that is ruled by it's generals, are generals nobility?  Do they pass that onto their children?

nobility is by blood, like everywhere else. But the actual leadership of lands/kingdoms is up to your military skill. so for examplei'm from a noble family and therefore I'm a noble too, but the only way I get a duchy to rule is if I'm better at war than current duke. Only nobles can be elected for ruling positions.

Position : Knight Grand Marshal of the Death's Seekers.
Full Name : Wolfrick Sinaed

Bio :
The Death's Seekers order is sworn to the king until death and believes that the day they accomplish the purpose they were born for they will be taken by death to live in peace in the afterlife.
They are taught that absolute obedience to the will of the Grand Master is the only path to peace and that loyalty to the order and the king matters above all else ( Assuming you don't mind having a group of heavily armed and very indiscriminate killer's at your command Dwarmin ).
Born in Northwatch to a minor noble his mother was killed giving birth to him. His father was a high ranking officer in the blood seekers when he was killed in battle with a large bandit force
His fathers last wish was that he should serve the Seekers just as he had and when he died the order took in young Wolfrick raising him from that day on to be a Knight.

From the day he passed his trials he devoted his life to ridding the land of bandits thinking nothing of the risks to the men fighting with him in his quest for revenge until one day out on a patrol with only a small force of his most trusted brothers around him he was baited into a bandit trap and charged in without thinking.

He survived the battle and slaughtered all who came before him taking numerous wounds in the process only to discover that his brothers had been cut down around him trying to protect him.

Upon his return to the order he was hailed as a hero for crushing a force of bandits many time's the size of his own force but for some months after the battle he refused all orders out of a sense of guild for the deaths of his brothers and was placed in the dungeons for refusing orders until the Grand Marshal himself came to see him to honor the memory of Wolfricks father.

Many time's over the following weeks the Marshal visited him until finally he came to understand that wallowing in guilt was not what his dead brothers would have wanted and was an insult to the men who made the ultimate sacrifice defending him with no thought for their own survival.

Over the following years under the tutelage of the Marshal himself he became a far more disciplined warriors and never again allowed his lust for revenge to blind him.
In time he became the Military commander to the order second only to the Marshal himself and one of the most respected warriors in the orders history.
The day he took on that rank the Marshal gave to him the command of the Orders most prodigious regiment the Death's Reapers a regiment that had never faltered in battle.
Every member of this regiment swore an oath in blood the day they joint to uphold the honor of the order till their dying breath. The members of the Death's Reapers regiment hand selected by the Marshal himself would rather die then dishonor themselves or the order.

6 months ago the Grand Marshal died sword in hand at the age of 67 in the defense of a wounded brother in battle with the bandits. His body was dragged back to the bandits camp as a trophy and in a fit of rage Wolfrick led the Death's Reapers regiment into the bandits camp and slaughtered them down to the last man to reclaim the Marshals body and give him an honorable burial.
After this feat and the years of training from the Marshal himself it was small wonder when it was announced that he had been chosen to succeed the former Marshal and so from that day onward he has led the Order of the Death's Seekers.
Trait : Foot Knight's Regiment known as  Death's Reapers.

I took seeker from a movie I watched earlier Dragon age dawn of the seeker.
The knight hood order the main character belongs to are called the seekers.
And since this character is in a Knight order I liked the name it was kinda the basis I used to build this character.
And blood just seemed to fit for the soldier aspect.
I don't think I've ever even looked at your company in HOTRS.

Hah I'm amazed I ended up with the same name lol what are the odds of that same name being picked twice completely at random by two of a few dozen people?
Is the character ok besides from the name mix up?

I'm also guessing that giving him back the jarldom in these circumstances would be a huge shame to him, right?
