(I'm confused. Why is Ba here if he's in the forest? Things not going on at the same time right now?)

Forrel bowed and said humbly, "Yes, I do wish to. Although I don't know what exactly that implies...Is there anything else I must learn?"

"To be given the tongue, you do not need to learn anything. Once you obtain the tongue though, you must learn the methods with which I speak to stop the tongue from destroying those around you, and you will go through many pains for the sake of learning this method. The process of receiving the tongue is no painless matter either, you may not be able to stand for a good time after receiving it."

Destructive? Is that why dragons always seem to terrorise the land? For all I know they're trying to trade!

"Even so, I still wish to have it."

Ba remembered back to his promise to Cyrano for a rematch. Since he had nothing else planned he thought he should head off to the village. "Cicatrix. I'm heading off to find Cyrano in the village. I'll be back by tomorrow afternoon."

Head to the village to seek out Cyrano.

Cicatrix shakes her head. "I thought you were going to be on alert, so that we can go rescue the huntress as soon as my bugs find her... Ah well. I guess I could track down that demon mage girl if the bugs return before you."

The high offers a defeated shrug. "If Cyrano's butchers have any scrap to spare me, would you be a dear and bring it back for me?"

Ba's head twitched when he realized something was wrong here. "Wait... you said that the huntress was missing. How long has Veranus been gone?" Ba turned back towards Cicatrix. "I think Cyrano will have to wait for his rematch. Where did she disappear?"

Prepare to search for Veranus.

"She left in pursuit of the last Ogre the morning after that Dark One used you to killed them all. She was supposed to be back yesterday."

Cicatrix shrugs and throws her hands up in the air. "I doubt she told anybody but me she was leaving. I didn't tell anybody but you. I wouldn't make a fuss about it to the others until my bugs get back. Most of these runners are about as competent as headless chickens. I don't want them getting crazy ideas and running about the woods without direction."

Ba knew Cicatrix was right. The woods were vast, and the trees would block the view of the castle, but Ba wanted to try if nothing else. "I'll check the woods and see if I can catch a scent. If I don't find one I'll come back."

Relax in study, reading the book.

Cicatrix nods sternly as she begins to sort through the fungus she obtained. "If you do pick up a scent I'd recommend popping back in so I can help you gather a rescue party before you pursue it."

Action: Experimentation time. Cicatrix will see if any of the fungus that she has gathered is capable of surviving on and feeding off of the corrupted goo that was once the beasts sent by the dark ones. "Lets see if we can't get the corruption back into a living form that I can work with..."

If nessescary take a break to help gather a search party for the uncharismatic Ba should he pick up the scent.

"I can't make any promises about a search party. If the scent is faint I'll be back once I've found her."

Don't gather a search party, and go find Veranus if possible.

    Brier mini
After a long talk with the statues, Brier discovers that the leader of this generation of Urists and his disciple have both been killed. Brier learns that only the enlightened can lead the Urist clan. The dead leaders task Brier with finding someone enlightened to become the leader, or becoming enlightened himself before the Urists are ended.
Before he can refuse, Brier is teleported back to the Hub. Brier finds himself cooking to relieve some stress, and the apple he saw when he had first learned how to open the doors catches his eyes.
    Veranus Tigerclaw
Veranus wanders around, her body aching, and her mind still tired. She contemplated what Gram had told her of her queen as she familiarizes herself with the building she's in. A conversation she has with a guard reveals that this is an adventurer's guild, and they're apparently in the capital. When she tries to leave to see her surroundings, Veranus is told that exiting before the yearly super blizzard ends is dangerous, and that it'll be over by the next day when they arrive at some port city.
Several small children are seen roaming around with extreme glee, and Veranus notices just how normal a majority of these people are. They aren't adventurers, they aren't warriors, and they aren't mages. They're simply here. As her eyes travel around looking at the different people, she spots Asa again, she appears to be talking to Hoz.
    Forrel de Yahmiz
Forrel is led into a room, and asks to be dropped off at the caravan with written instructions once this is over. The high priest agrees on the condition that he go with him so that nothing troubling happens. The two shake hands, and Forrel is laid on an almost sacrificial altar. A dragon is brought into the room, and it hangs upside down from the ceiling like a bat.
Forrel is told to open his mouth, and the dragon begins to breath mana into Forrel. The mana stings and burns, but it isn't until he's told to begin yelling that the unbearable pain he was told of begins to kick in. The mana feels like it's destroying his insides, but the dragon eventually stops breathing in. A strange casing is put on Forrel's tongue, and Forrel nearly passes out from pain as the case burns an enchantment on his tongue.
The final receiving of the tongue is for him to yell at the dragon while it yells back to absorb the base attributes of the voice. This is the most painful for Forrel, as his voice doesn't block the effects the dragon's is having on him, and the enchantment is still being burned on his tongue. He passes out several times, but the pain keeps him from going down for more than a few seconds, and he eventually absorbs the powers. The dragon gives one last test yell, and Forrel feels nothing from it. It's not painful, and it doesn't sound nearly as loud as it used to.
Forrel falls asleep, feeling several years aged and beaten.
Forrel is asleep until the next game morning. He may dream whatever he wants.
    Cicatrix Greywood Greenflower
After a bit of banter with Ba, Cicatrix turns to her freshly gathered plants. She begins feeding small dosages of the corrupted slop to the fungi, but is met with complete failure in all but three cases. These three cases take the corruption in with modest difficulty, and are not so easy to fall apart when the signs of corruption begin to appear in them. Cicatrix doesn't dare feed more corruption in though, as too grand a mutation in too little time might put control back into the dark ones.
    Ba'gandi Kashi
Ba runs at top speed to the forest, and begins to hunt for a scent. He's taken around a fairly wild goose chase for a fair bit, until he encounters the signs of her battle. He smells her blood, but not enough to assume her dead. The trail doesn't end here, so he continues to follow it up into the mountains again. A large gate, similar to the one used to enter this realm, sits at the end of the path and is guarded by large knights, at least twice the size of Cyrano. A portal opens in the gate, and Cyrano walks out. The large mercenary notices Ba and quickly walks over as the gate closes behind him.
"Hey pal, back from the dead eh? Ya get me a souvenir?"
    Seiyas Stormclaw
Seiyas finds a spot to lay down to read her book, and her golems come to rest at her side. It's times like these that having no lap was seen as a disadvantage by Seiyas, but she wasn't concerning herself with things like that, she had a book.
Several hours of reading reveal to Seiyas how to make complex programs in small golems, and how to control large golems without them going berserk. She had to stop at this point, as there were many terms related to fields she had no expertise in that were giving her a migraine. Seiyas found what she could read enjoyable, and takes one of her doll golems for reprogramming. She has to chase it down for a bit, but she eventually catches it and returns to the study.
She programs the doll to stay inside the study unless told to leave, and to contact her by pulsing the mana she put into it if a trespasser steps into the study. Seiyas was rather delighted at that little bit of knowledge the book gave her.

Ba was surprised at the fact that Cyrano was here, but also concerned at his timing. "I'd love to have the rematch I promised, but I'm looking for a friend that passed this way. They disappeared a day or two ago and haven't returned yet." Ba was trying his best to be vague, knowing full well that Veranus may be in danger without letting mercenaries know who she was. "I should be able to track them down alone. How about next time we meet for a rematch?"

The waters were glistening and smelled of sweet-salt. The fish were plentiful this time of year, and so were there a great many fishingboats and even buyers, wishing to buy their fish as fresh as possible. Forrel and his friends were on a fishingboat themselves, a research project of sorts. All students of the University of Our Teacher had to do a study. Forrel had originally wanted to do something about magic but Kreia had convinced him to study the fish. Forrel was regretting following this orc-woman's suggestion. "These fish are starting to smell, Kreia. All we're doing is watching the fishers catch fish, we aren't even dissecting."

The orc replied, "Oh yeah? Well why don't ya then?" She tossed a knife and Forrel caught it, although it cut his hand. Forrel cursed. Kreia just laughed. "Well Mr Researcher, do some dissecting then!"

Forrel guessed he might as well...

The dream was good...
