Ba's head perked up. Veranus could be in the capital city. It would certainly explain why she was gone for so long, as well as why his chain would point to the gate. "Well, I'll be heading to the capital in the morning. Any chance you'd be up for a rematch outside while we wait for the blizzard to pass?" No longer worrying about Veranus being in danger, Ba started stretching, as if Cyrano had already accepted the challenge.

Seiyas crawled happily out of the too-small bed, wondering where she'd be able to get a replacement in here. That old elf would probably know. She'd know a lot of things.

But first, Seiyas wanted to read a bit more. More ambitious pursuits could wait a bit.

Read more of the book over breakfast.

TF: "It's already morning, but I'm up for a challenge anytime."

    Brier mini
Brier enlists the aid of some people in the military wing. They say they can't mine, but they happily bring back plenty of tools from the fortress in the cave and some loose ore they found.
    Veranus Tigerclaw
Veranus hauls herself out of bed and steps into the grand foyer she had talked to Hoz and Asa at the night before. Some of the more adventurous looking members of the hall return with the man she had seen in the forest before encountering the slavers.
    Forrel mini
Forrel wakes up inside the capital. It's freezing, and Forrel's body aches, but the high priest and Tince help him up. The high priest tries to remind Forrel not to talk, but Tince reveals that he's already saturated, and no one who isn't is anywhere within Forrel's range.
    Cicatrix mini
Cicatrix begins feeding the fungi some of the slop.
The third simply begins shrugging the corruption off after a while, though some of the samples were lost from the excess strain put on it.
The first mutates horribly, and tries to latch itself onto Cicatrix. The avatar Thanatos provided blocks the coating sludge rather easily, but the sludge's mutation begins to take over the avatar's entire body. Because of the influence Thanatos exerts over the cadaver, the sludge quickly becomes another part of the avatar as a part of its wardrobe.
The avatar now stands in a black, butler-like suit along with its mask and "scythe."
    Ba'gandi mini
Ba tries to ready his axe, but realizes he left it at the fortress. The man in the soul realm did tell him he would only ever need the stick that became the soul cloth to fight from then on. Ba removes the cloth from his spiral tattoo, and it takes the shape of a small battle axe. While such a weapon is usually more practical than the great axe Ba's family used, considering the size and strength of he and his tribe, such a weapon was too small.
Cyrano has a hardy laugh at Ba's transforming cloth, but Ba eventually manages to get the correct weapon.
    Seiyas Stormclaw
Seiyas eats another bit of bread she brought with her through the caves as she reads through some of the parts she hadn't been able to comprehend. Whether it's that she got some rest, or that she's simply determined enough to read through the parts is up for debate, but she makes it through another chapter of the golem book. Seiyas even managed to avoid getting a headache.
The only information Seiyas found relevant to her own situation was that some oddities could be found in golems produced by mages with abnormal mana.

Seiyas set the book down in her claimed bedroom, intrigued but finished reading for now. It was morning, her mana was restored, and she had endless work to do.

Her first order of business was simple... or at least, it would start simple. It was difficult to say where calling on the old elf would lead, but she'd find out soon enough.

The small plant-house was not hard to find, and Seiyas blinked at it curiously. It was just now dawning on her that this may have been what she meant by the life part of "master of life and death." She'd just assumed that was a euphemism for controlling and occasionally sparing groveling creatures that liked living.

The next part she was a bit unsure of. In her village, the proper way to get the attention of someone at home was generally to stand outside it and shout your business with them, or in some cases just their name or similar. She'd heard humans and elves and such preferred the peculiar custom of "knocking" instead, which involved hitting someone's dwelling like a giant drum to get their attention. She still wasn't entirely convinced that wasn't someone trying to trick her into annoying someone powerful.

With a slight grunt of disapproval, she decided to just combine the two. She hammered several times on the door- if it was a plant it should grow back anyway, right?- followed by backing a respectful distance from the door and shouting loud enough that the inhabitant- if she was in there- should be able to hear it.

"Cicatrix Greenflower! Seiyas Stormclaw wishes to speak with you!"

Cicatrix started, nearly dropping the fungus she was working with upon hearing the racket outside. She quickly stores the mushrooms back in their jars and replies to the voice outside. "Do come in! Nothing in the house should hurt you unless provoked!"

The house is well furnished with vines molding into the shape of proper house dressing. Cicatrix sits on a green stool next to a green workbench. Nearby is a nook in the wall where several large and clearly mutated insects rest.

"What brings you to see me dear?"

Seiyas nodded respectfully, despite the obvious fact that she probably couldn't see or appreciate the gesture.

"Several things, actually. On more mundane matters, do you know where I could find goods or tools? I need things to harvest materials for golems with, but haven't been able to find any, and the bed I found is too small.

Otherwise, I came to ask you about magic. I had actually intended to ask you about necromancy, but it's occurred to me that you like plants, and I was actually thinking of making my next golem out of plant material. Do you have any advice or insight about that? Or anything, really, I'd quite like to hear your opinions."

Cicatrix laughs and allows her work area to shift into the shape of a sofa, on which she sprawls out. "If you can make golems out of stone, why would you want to make them out of organic matter, living or dead?"

The old mage pause for a second as the answer to her own question comes to her. "...Because plants and corpses are chemicaly, magically, and biologically dangerous!"

Cicatrix jumps to her feet and points at the wall, where a closet door appears and swings open causing her many animated bone tools to fall to the ground. "We can build something together with a body of rock and many living and unliving limbs! All we need to do is figure out a way to re-enforce these tools for mining."

The blind eyes of Cicatrix almost sparkle with excitement. She had been planning on seeking out Seiyas and asking this of her anyways. So far fate had brought her freedom, divine assistance, and now a young mage to work with and mold in her own image.

Seiyas' tail waggled slightly with excitement. Build something together? The possibilities were endless!

"I know some enchanting," she volunteered, looking at the bone tools. She certainly didn't know enough of anything else to help strengthen bones.

"Um, what exactly are we building? What shape will the body and limbs have? How big will it be?"

Cicatrix scratches her chin. "Hmm... Perhaps if you throw in your knowledge of enchantments, and me my necromatic tallents we can figure out how to make these thing pierce rock."

The old mage begins to pace the floor. "As for the size of it I'm thinking big. Perhaps with enough enchantments we can get it flight capable as well. You make a large, winged body with room for limbs... and then we shall see what nasty weapons I can cook up for it."

Seiyas nodded. "Alright. Making wings out of stone will be difficult though, it doesn't handle being thin very well. About these tools, though..."

Work with Cicatrix to Attempt to enchant the tools to be able to work stone.

((Unless you'd like to work on it later instead.))

Cicatrix stares blindly at the tools scratching her chin. "We are going to need a proper work area if we are gonna construct something big. How about you take first crack at the tools and I'll help you in a bit if you can't figure it out on your own."

Pointing at the wall Cicatrix smirks. "I'm gonna add a proper workshop to this shack. I heard you complain about lack of a proper bed, would you like a wing to live in while I'm at it dear? Us mages, we ought to stick together. Though I'd understand if you are uncomfortable living around all this green. I'd likely turn you down if you offered me some shack or hole in the desert."

"Oh, I prefer the area I have, it's just the bed that's too small. I'll see what I can do with the tools."

Cicatrix nods. "I might as well help you with the tools then. I'll set the workshop up while you supervise the mining."

Action: Use Necromancy to magicaly tag team the tools into something capable of digging through stone.
