Charity stops leaving when she hears Crest Fire's outburst. "You'd rather not have the promotion? I'm sure Osal or Madush would like to take it instead, if you're sure you don't want it." She looks at Crest, awaiting a response, when Starkey speaks. "Of course Starkey, you may do so." Charity is relieved to have gotten out of that particular duty. "Just do it before she finds out some other way. You know how rumors spread. Especially when they're true."

[The Master]

"NO NO! I'LL DO IT!!!" Yells Crest hurriedly, not wanting to pass this up.

[Dsarker]

The world starts to fade away. Friesden turned to Khenal in regret.

"I'd love to spend forever here with you, my love. But you have things to do..."


((afk. 30 minutes))

[Impending Doom]

"Thank you, ma'am. I'll see to it immediately."

He trots out the door.

[Telgin]

((Ninja'ed, so just assume this happened before Starkey said anything))

"Of course, countess. "

Falcata bows before Countess Charity and exits the office.  She chances a glance back to Captain Starkey, who has remained silent, if not catatonic throughout the ordeal.  Another pang of anger races through her mind as she contemplates the pain he must be enduring from losing his friend and brother-at-arms.

She hangs her head low and trudges off to her quarters where she finds Kris fast asleep in bed.  She eases in next to her daughter and tries to halt the racing thoughts in her mind.  She wasn't going to be getting much sleep that night, she could already tell.

Kris shifts next to her and makes a small noise before settling down again.  Painful memories of the past mingle with the events of just minutes ago.  At least Friesden was in custody.  She wasn't going to let anypony possibly take Kris from her.  Nopony.

((So much for heading to bed.  This is more addicting than I thought it would be, heh.  Ok, I'm gone for real this time.))

[KingStrongbeard]

"NO NO! I'LL DO IT!!!" Yells Crest hurriedly, not wanting to pass this up.

"Alright then. I'll have the appropriate paperwork filled out, but as of now, you are Captain Crest Fire, of the Wavy Passes, the Skyguard of Glitterglen, and the Defenders of the Noble house of Conventtulip. May our fortunes rise with you."

(After I kill off Psycho Carrot in the game, give me a few more minutes, we'll see if Kil goes nuts. Assuming she survives, I'm going to move her and her family into a new room and give the old one to Captain Crest Fire.)

[Khenal]

I take Keepers remains with me as the link closes, hoping he'll revive once back in my mind.  I blink a few times, adjusting to being in cold reality once again.  I can't help but smile a bit, though. 

'My love is finally a whole pony again, everything will work out!'

I prance a bit as I head to Isos' office to ask her for the keys to let Friesden out. 

[The Master]

'Khenal, did you know that your mind has a pool?!' exclaims Carrot excitedly.

[Khenal]

'Yes, I knew that, heh.  Oh, Happy Birthday!  I didn't get a chance to wish it to you properly before...everything.  I, uh, made you a chest.  It's...kinda serving as your coffin right now, though...'

[Impending Doom]

Starkey heads downstairs into the prison. Lying just past the final step is Carrot's birthday helmet. He sits on his haunches, gingerly picking it up between his hooves, and stares into the empty eyesockets for a long moment.

[The Master]

'Don't worry about it! OH! Did I mention that I had a friend named Crest Fire who was in the militia with me? Great guy, kind of hyper...but nice all the same!'

[Khenal]

I stop in my tracks, trying to visualize somepony that Carrot would describe as hyper, and failing.

[Impending Doom]

Starkey returns the helm to its place under his wing. As he turns to leave, he notices Khenal approaching.

"Hello, friend."

[The Master]

Ironicly, or perhaps by sheer luck, Crest smashes into Khenal as he runs down the stairs whooping like crazy.
"HI! I'M CREST! WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!" Yells Crest in the same way Carrot used to yell.

[Khenal]

I recoil from the sudden pony, taking a few steps back.

"Uh, hello Crest Fire, I'm Khenal.  Hey Starkey.  You've...heard the news, I take it?"
