Try to have 2 (small) fliers attack a wolf from opposite sides (so it can only see one coming), and try to stage a psionic assault on the wolf at the same time to distract it.

A few questions, first off, what exactly does a crystal look like in 3D?
I know 2D it looks like this:

/ \
| |
\ /

But that's only 2D. Personally I imagine them to looks somewhat like a rupee from zelda.
Second of all, how thick (since we know their weight and height) ARE they (and are the large ones proportionally thicker)?

Warning, nitpicky math stuff below:
Third of all, the mass conversion is off. A regular weighs 1kg, while a large weighs 4kg, despite having a volume at least 16 times bigger (possibly 64 times bigger depending on how thick it is).
Forth of all, presuming that a normal is 1" tall, .75" wide, and .33" thick (and calculating mass as a square prism, which is making it a big larger then it would be), a crystal weighs 4kg/cubic inch, while lead weighs 185g/cubic inch, meaning that a small crystal is 21 times as dense as lead, something that would probably result in a large mass of it sinking through anything that's not solid rock.

Yes, they are supposed to look like rupees. More stuff in a PM lemon, since I don't want to fill the thread with more stuff than updates.

Can we use our spark power to repel crystals?

Railguns that fire crystals into things that we want to convert to crystal!

I was saying that from the beginning!  :P
So i proclam myself Head Scientist of Cryswarms' Guns.

searching program:
1-Learn how to repel crystals with sparks. at highest speed possible.
2-Make a tube of 3 or 4 crystals, put one in, repel with sparks from behind it. Next, aim tube to something interesting.
3-Label this as "Railgun 01" and put one on any form (optionnal)
4-Upgrade "Railgun 01" by increasing power, range and such, by trial and experiments.

Problem with that:

Railguns aren't tubes. Coilguns are tubes.
Railguns are pairs of rails.

And, yes, I nitpick over details like that.

Oh. ok. I didnt know.
you may "nitpick over details", but at least i learned something today.  ;)

Railgun, Coilgun... It dont matter at the end, just got this damned sparkbacane.

It actually does matter.

Railguns are recoilless, coilguns are not.

It has something to do with the magnetic forces a railgun uses to accelerate the projectile counter-balancing the force exerted with the projectile leaving the rails at speeds greater than mach 10.

A coilgun, however, uses multiple electromagnetic coils to accelerate the projectile, and they turn on and off as the projectile passes, so the counter-balance of the constant magnetic field of the railgun is not present.

Railguns are recoilless, coilguns are not.

You're breaking some laws of physics there, sir. Newton's third: Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. That's pretty much recoil to me.

I researched it a little to make sure (I'm fairly acquainted with physics but not the particularities of railguns) and I could find nothing to support the claim. In fact, many of the sources I checked stated that choosing strong enough materials to withstand the recoil forces is a major design consideration for a potential railgun.

hmm.

I read somewhere that the magnetic forces involved provided a counter-balance.

I may be wrong.

EDIT: Found something: "In the rail gun, the momentum given to the projectile must be matched by the momentum given to the "stationary" part of the gun. If the gun is firmly anchored, this momentum is given to the entire mass of the planet and you will not see much recoil."

Very first page of my Google search: http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/newton/askasci/1993/physics/PHY24.HTM

So, yes, there is recoil, but since the gun needs to be very securely anchored, the recoil does not happen directly to the gun.

when i said "it does not matter", i was refering to this actual game. I do not care if we get railgun or coilgun, as long as we have a DAMN GUN FIRING SENTIENT CRYSTALS!  :P
And turning victims into MOAR SENTIENT CRYSTALS!  8)

Would you like to be blasted back a ways by the recoil?

They're more dense (apparently) than lead. Yet they can fly somewhat. Still probably going to be some recoil, but not much.

speeds greater than mach 10.

speeds greater than mach 10.

speeds greater than mach 10.

If we didn't manage the recoil correctly, imagine the impact of something very large and much denser than lead impacting at at least mach 5. (Our weight would dampen some of the recoil, but not all. Since I have no idea how much mass we have exactly, nor a formula for determining the acceleration from the recoil, I'm just going to go half.)
