Hey, maybe I'm just too used to seeing discounts in the realm of "25-75%" on Steam, but then I realized that those are relatively short (1 week at most) deals for already released games...

I mean the game would be a steal for me even if it was 60€. Call me a fanboy all you want but I really enjoy Isaac (Rebirth in particular) and I'm willing to support it as much as I can.

Also, for those who don't enjoy the new pixelart graphics there will be a Flash-like filter available, as well as a plethora of other unlockable filters.
And it may look something like this:

Though Ed said we'll get more official info on the next Monday, so yeah, there's that, too.
NOW can people stop screaming "HOLEE SHIET DIEM RETROO GRAFIX -REP", please?

What, thread title? It's the only way I could really think to characterize it.

Not trying to start a war or whatever, but the pre-order is there for people who enjoy a pre-order.. I've found that an overall decent tactic is that if you trust the original game (and original dev) then pre-order! I pre-ordered Borderlands 2 and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and was not disappointed.. Its not fail-safe, though, because I also pre-ordered Diablo 3 :)

Anyway, it seems like a lot of people (all around the net) see this Rebirth release as some kind of challenge to either knock that 33% discount down to a 66% discount, or the "next best route", which is to wait three or four months and pay $1.66 for it in some idiot bundle later on :| While I am a very low-income person (disabled) and try to save every cent I can, sometimes letting go of extra money in order to preserve something that brings you joy.. well..

If you love Isaac, or at least have faith in the potential of any future games the devs may release, then you should feel honor at paying full-price for it (and for buying direct from the dev's website if possible to keep Steam from getting a massive cut of the profits just for hosting the game)..

.. In the end I guess I'm just glad that people don't donate to Toady in "game-bundle savings!" amounts..

Okay, so, big news!

The OST is now up for preorders on Ridiculon's bandcamp page for $3, and includes all tracks revealed up to this point, complete with the "loads of action" variants, as well as the Cathedral Track (Everlasting Hymn), which is just stupidly brilliant and I can see why it's Edmund's favorite.

It also has all other track names, so be wary if your're allergic to spoilers.

Spoiler: About tracks 25 and 26 (click to show/hide)

I wish that it'll be preorderable on Steam soon, I CBA to do it anywhere else atm.

So just because the game is due in a little over a month, does not mean an end to spoilers about said game!

There's going to be a hard mode. No Easy mode! Just Normal, and Hard. What makes it more difficult, he's being catty about. But curses will be more frequent, and you won't ever get hearts from bosses. Not sure if he meant heart refills or heart containers. I can say from experience that not getting heart containers at bosses with any regularity is fucking agony.

There will be Hard mode-only unlocked content. Anything unlocked in Hard Mode is retroactively unlocked in Normal, so you can start on Hard Mode.

There's going to be state trackers on all the playable characters. So no having to remember oo killed oo.

If you haven't seen it, he posted a 30 min excerpt of his part in Indie Game the Movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMqFTuMECeA
He talks about the games' many inspirations, how his own personal dramas that it, what the game's life cycle was like.

Also linked on the blog, The Binding of Isaac: Reisaac. It's just the kind of Isaac his weird Isaac would Isaac.

I wouldn't call those days short...This is like the only time ever when I want the weekend to be over FASTER. I am hype as hell, for good or for bad.
Can't wait to do a Skype call with a friend over in Canada and play simultaneously so we can share the experience on the fly. It's going to be an eventful Tuesday, I'm telling you.

I'm thinking I'm going to install it on my laptop and bring a controller to work....so we can hook up the screen to the projector and waste half the day playing BoI.

Beat Sheol with Isaac and Heaven with Judas last night. Was like three tears away from beating Heaven with Isaac too. Probably my most successful night ever.
