Okay, GOOD NEWS!
Game is now less than 24 hours away from release and available for pre-loadining

BAD NEWS!
It's still encrypted so it won't actually pre-load...yet.

Preload is working now. I restarted my Steam client and it's getting it.

Yeah, just found that myself. So hyped my eyeballs could explode. So hyped, I did what I couldn't do in a 124 hours of this game: beat Heaven and Sheol with Isaac and Eve.

Now if only Steam people could download it. I would listen to this at school all day today.
Wait...I have school. ;-;

I hope my teacher lets me leave early (she usually does). Wanna drop in for Northernlion's PRELEASE SCUM stream.

So, the soundtrack is really good. It's crazy when you consider how fast they banged out an entirely new soundtrack for the game. Gone are the playful chip tunes of the original. The entire soundtrack is much heavier, darker, sadder and more disturbed now. Some tracks I'd say are almost too epic for the look of the game, but I didn't find the music for BoI fit all that well until I listened to it for 50 hours.

Isaac is back in about 3 hours. Curse my adult life that prevents me from really playing it until later today!

The game handles differently, IMO. I probably just need time to get used to it, and the new SFX and music. Maybe it's just that it's running at its actual FPS instead of the weird compromised FPS of the original.

Also, it was a feature mentioned months ago, but you were supposed to be able to export an image of your character at the end of your run. I'm not seeing that anywhere (unless it only counts successful runs.)

No, I agree. It's an odd sensation, particularly when you're so used to the fixed boundaries of the original.

Has anyone found out how to play multiplayer? Do you have to have a controller? Which kind?

Any USB controller should work, Xbox or generic. It just needs to be plugged in and they hit the start button.

My first run went pretty well, I won and also unlocked three characters (Cain, Azazel and Lazarus).  I reduced my health to one with this weird secret devil room thing, but fortunately I was able to scrape through the final fight (the Mom fight felt significantly easier, there was less stamping and her attacks were more telegraphed).

I think I got pretty lucky, I got loads of money, good pill effects and solid stat-boosting items.  See under spoiler for screenshot and item report.

Really I didn't find any super gamechanging stuff though, I look forward to getting stuff that completely screws with the kind of bullets you're firing.
