I've played that mod. It sucks, and it's glitchy as hell.

Bad graphics, bad physics and a low FPS. I'll stick to DF.

At least the elves seem to always die out during world gen.

I can confirm Fortress Mode doesn't work correctly, I keep getting cave-ins when I try to hang granite floor off of a pile of soap and also that I haven't seen any elf traders for years (I really want some trained giant scorpions, and they don't exist in my biome even if I could train them). 

Adventure Mode is a bit better.  There may not be enough megabeasts, but the absolute worst part is that (or so the README says) generating a new character takes anything up to nine months processing time and that my hardware can only start this off, anyway, and I really need to get someone else's equipment to do the bulk of the work...

You probably won't get it, but I knew about the warships Ilmarinen and Väinämöinen long before I knew that those names were related to some tales....

I was thinking: "Hey, the protagonists of this old tale are named exactly as those 2 warships were!"
....
....
...."oh. I see what you did there."

They were also the only lighthouse ships to carry 10-inch guns

Yeah, and you didn't speak about generating a world...
It's been for about several billion years, and the dammned thing just goes and generates a world only populated by humans!
At least they seem to have discovered to use steel and how to build sensibly, so is a improvement from vanilla, but still..
Well, browsing around in Legends, I found about a guy with more than 500 kills, some Symo Hayha the sugary death or something, so it seems that in this world the humans know how to have some FUN! too
I'll give it a try...

[1] Lovely meals they had there.  Except for, what was it... Kind of a spam-like thing...  Rottenbratte?, no, that doesn't look right, and the proper name eludes me.  (Ro"mebratte?  Still not right, I think.)  But I loved the banana-curry sauce they once had, for one of the more strangely prepared Hanchenbrustfillet dishes.

[2] Old habits die hard, I picked that out of the phrasebook before the more usual Entshuldigung (which I probably misspell, anyway) and have never since stopped using that in the other's stead.  And it took nearly half an hour to work out what I thought I could still say and how I thought I could say it, just now...   Verb tenses (and order) gets me.

Anyway, Elvis used German (better than me, and far more tunefully) and what could be less unamerican than Elvis? <= See how I drag this back on topic?

You must make a two dwarf squad, you must name them Captain America and Bucky.

Captain America must only use shields to attack, and Bucky must only use knives or a crossbow. when they die, you must make a monument to their brave and heroic sacrifice.

See how many jerries they can kill before being put out of action!

Well uh... in Adventure mode I usually open a fight by throwing my shield and coming in swinging my two-hander.  The shield typically shatters an arm or a hand and sometimes messes an enemy's guts up pretty bad.  I've actually gotten killing blows in a few of those dinky little goblin/kobold ambushes.

Jerry here, and I resent the opening post. After all, we've been more vigorous at combating un-American behaviour than America itself in a fashion...

And there should be plenty more. We may not be terribly short on average, but 'sturdy creatures fond of drink and industry' fits quite well on the whole

Any finns out there should now do the following:

-A solo marksdwarf
-No-quality wooden crossbow
-Same bolts as everyone else
-Civilian clothes
-500+ kills
-Name him Simo Häyhä

Bonus points if he:
-Gets shot in the head, denting the brain but without killing him.

I don't think Häyhä fought in civilian clothes.
Dress him in adamantine just like everyone else in your standardized army.
