What have we not weaponized yet?
« on: May 24, 2011, 10:56:37 pm »

Seems like a short, but difficult list of things that would fall under such a category...

Food is something I haven't seen weaponized....

Anyone else know anything?

Nope. http://mkv25.net/dfma/movie-42-boozeexplosion

I've not heard of seen weaponized rainfall, that is, a water trap with a cistern filled exclusively with rainwater.

It's been done. Pit to slowly drown elves and goblins. Fill with 1/7 of water, and let the rain build up and kill them all.

Many foods can burn. Roasted smores. But instead of chocolate, you get !!mushrooms!!, and instead of marshmallows, you get !!Elves!!.

Two highly pressurized waves of water from two different directions, meeting at a middle point, crushing things caught in the middle?

Windmills? But that might occupy the burning object vault. Eggs might be part of  the process than be the solution.

Could we weaponize regular clothing?

Sure, set a dwarf on fire (magmafall?), send it into the battlefield, then forbid his clothes.

Plus, that wouldn't work. You'd just drown them at best.

And Necro910, you're referring to pitting them in a Murky Pool, right? Rain will only refill Murky Pools.

Centration. Similar to Spacestation 13, but in 3D and first-person. Sounds damn awesome.

Rock nut oil?  Is it flammable?  More importantly can you dump it once it's burning without killing your dwarves?

Air.  I'll bet no one has weaponized pure air yet.

Excavated ice?

Should you fail to comply, strict !!disciplinary actions!! will be taken. Also, we feel we should remind you that one of the "criminals" on your list is the chief medical dwarf. If he ends up too badly injured to do his job, you will be fired. Out of a magma cannon.
Sincerely,
The Administration

Air.  I'll bet no one has weaponized pure air yet.

The goblin would have survived the fall, had it not been for the expanse of air between him and the ground.
Cave-in dust (which isn't pure air) can throw creatures through the air.
We can't really make you happy unless Toady adds giant fan mechanisms.

Excavated ice?
You can build stuff with the "water" stones. I never tried to build an ice bridge atom-smasher, but that might work. Dropping an ice floor or ice wall on someone's head would kill them.
