seen it twice in recent times IIRC. Obv the first time was the day after I bought it full price.

Well then, the obvious solution here is for you to purchase it a second time. Then we can all get it on sale again the next day! 

You know those chests of gold in towns, weapons and all that?

You get more of them if people are alive.

To be precise: You can either enslave villagers, or kill them. Enslaving them causes them to run off and make stuff for you (they'll work themselves (nearly) to death at the blacksmith shop, for instance, producing weapons for your minions). Killing them causes them to fertilize the ground over the course of a few decades, likely causing a mighty forest to grow upon the site, you ruddy tree-hugger. 
Either way, you'll shift your alignment, and IIRC handling villagers is the fastest way of changing said alignment.

And I don't have HL2, but i got TF2, will that make any difference on the gameplay?

You need HL2 if you want to be able to build anything, since Gmod uses all of the models in that game for pretty much everything.

Yes. The AI is very hard, but it's a pretty nice game.

We should have a Bay12 game multiplayer at some point. This way we can not get killed by the AI...

You need HL2 if you want to be able to build anything, since Gmod uses all of the models in that game for pretty much everything.

Actually, I think, when he got it onto Steam as an "official" game, that he was allowed to bundle some of the models.
I know he absorbed Phoenix-Storms' models fairly recently, so even without the HL2 stuff, you might be fine.  The big old ERROR model will show up in the place of anybody using them online, but...

Is the port good enough to be worth the time investment? I've been wanting to play it since I read Jerusalem's superb LP, I'd just like some reassurance that it won't be a terribly broken waste of my time.
