Manufacturers add sugar to everything. Literally everything. Because according to psychologists they hired, people will always prefer the sweeter, saltier, slightly fattier product over the traditional recipe. And sugar especially is addictive.

When buying, check the back for added sugar. 0 grams = good tasty, anything more than 0 = bad gross.

Maybe the Youtube algorithm figured out I was engaged in discussing Stanley brand mug/thermos things and put this in front of me.

But if the trend annoys you, rest well, for in the famous words of some half-written dialog engine....."It is inevitable."

I just today noticed that my coffee maker thinks that 11:59am is followed by 12:00am.  It doesn't switch to PM until 12:59am -> 1:00pm.  Interestingly 11:59pm -> 00:00am.  (At least when using the set clock mode, which I assume is the same as normal running mode).

That sounds like a clickbait article title, This man discovered the secret witching hour and the government hates him for it.

We're reaching levels of Murica previously thought impossible.

To wit the whole animal control thing has been admitted as "making a sarcastic point", and it doesn't change how this is horribly discriminatory, but... Gawddam.

LOL.
Too specific and too broad at the same time.
What the law should say is that disruptive behaviour is prohibited during lessons, and that appropriate services would be called.

At which point the schools would be entirely in their right to call animal services on a child that insists they are an animal.

That seems to be a major factor according to the esteemed jackass who penned the thing!

In other news, I remembered that AI dungeon was a thing and decided to check it out again... It's seriously changed since last time I visited, with all sorts of fancy-schmancy slick UI elements, and of course a premium option that provides "unlimited moves" since apparently that's a limited resource now...

...but not everything has changed, clearly! It is still incredibly prone to getting itself locked in an unresponsive state... Only difference is, now it'll cost you those limited points to keep doing nothing.

I dunno, at some point I think we do have to draw a line.

I think we can draw that line gracefully and not with hate though.

My personal issue is trying to find the right point to say, no, this is objective reality, not subjective reality.  I guess it matters inasmuch as it impacts things like the ability of the species to produce enough food and shelter and clean water and basic infrastructure to survive... but I don't know if the rest is really up for grabs.

I mean I don't think I can take seriously the people who want to do things like marry buildings. I hope they aren't designing my vehicles or critical infrastructure or performing surgeries for example.

If that makes me an intolerant person... so be it.
