Yeh, a bit of cinnamon can help round out the other flavors in a dish and provide a more complex and balanced experience. Putting a dash in pasta sauce or, as I've taken to doing, tuna salad can make a surprising difference without anything tasting like cinnamon.

In other WTF news, two of my closest friends, who themselves have been besties for somewhere around 12 years, are primed and ready to go at each others' throats because they just can't seem to manage to communicate with each other...

Again.

Maybe my problem is that I don't like cinnamon.
Yeah, that's entirely fair. Some folks are even allergic, the poor blighters.

Again.
This was, like, the entire relationship between my closer grandparents and their children for most of something like the last decade prior to the former passing. Just a near complete unwillingness or incapability of, just... paying attention to what they were saying and how it's likely to be taken, from both directions (and arguably the worst thing about it is one of them had acting experience, two of them teaching experience, another a great deal of time working with troubled folks and charity work, and the last years of political experience; these folks literally taught me how not to make the fuckups they were making with each other). More times than I could count someone would say something that, to all appearances, they were trying to say out of good will, but the word choice or tone was 100% going to be (and was) taken poorly.

It made for a lot of goddamn stress, blech :-\

Last week, we rescued a dog off the streets and got it back to its owner.

This week, the owner called us to say she's arrested and surrendering her pups to us and her pups are still at the hotel she was staying at.

Her pups is, erh, nine small dogs.

We took three to get home and clean up while waiting for animal control to collect the dogs. They've taken the rest of them, but since they're surrendered and the three are with us, they're ours now until we set up an appointment to surrender them as well. Fortunately we have spare rooms and some nice big kennels to keep them in since our boys are so settled already, but it'll still be another big undertaking to keep them upright and adequately cared for.

So for now, we have five dogs.

How does this work? Anybody can just point to a person and they have to take their animals in?

It was 'call us if you're desperate and need help with your dog' (times are hard for the previous owner) and then it became 'i am desperate and need help with my dogs, they are at here.'

Then it was legally our decision to surrender the remaining dogs. The other six got scooped away because it's a situational emergency, but since we've taken these three in and they're no longer in emergency, we can go through the standard timeline of booking a surrender appointment for them. Which is fine, we've got the bandwidth, and city kennels are VERY crowded and tense.

Obligatory reminder to spay/neuter your pets, everyone.

I should say that these weeks I met a really "smelly" problem , I had a roommate who seldom get himself a wash ,he smells smelly .

My other roommates are also filled by the disgusting smell of him , each time we turn to talk about such a problem with him , he turn a deaf ear to us , by the way , he is also a person who always get up early in the morning , but each time he get up , the noise he made get the other five of us awaked . After he get up ,he just sits there scratching his hear and plays video games for about half an hour , then leaves the dormitory and closes the door heavily .

One roommate of us once quarelled with him for the "morning noise "problem , he just said that it's his freedom to get up early (about 40minutes earlier than us ), whether we awakened by him has no relationship to him ...He really has no emotional intelligence , right ?He is also a "remarker ", I said that because he is not a critic , at least not a true critic , he just likes boasting , saying some words boastfully and pretending to be a well-rounded and acknowleged person .

However ,with the weight of 120-130 kilograms, he has no controls on his diet and never exercises , I am really worried about his health .

This is one of the reasons I am glad I live alone in my dorm room.

In college I had one dormmate who I lent my laptop to.  I told him he could use it for anything as long as he didnt download anything I didnt approve beforehand, and no installing video games or pirating or porn sites.

One day I came into our common room to find him, 2 other guys and a girl watching some porn I had on the computer.  They had hooked it up to the TV.

Sounds like you needed to hide your porn better to prevent them finding it.

Probably not on or before 11/8/2023, no. You likely won't feel that kind of old today.

11/9, well... tomorrow's another day, and you'll be well past the technically never happened to you point by then :P
