The following situation happened:
- I have that lingering desire to host a RtD. Again.
- I don't want to piss off the playerbase of one of my old RtDs by starting a new one and not finishing the old one. Again.
- I think that Civilization of Magic, take one, is beyond all necromancy right now.
So, I'd start over from a blank slate, with guaranteed player slots for people that participated in the first take. Otherwise, limiting to six, so get in fast.
RtDx rules will not be used. Skills are not going to give flat bonuses to your rolls, instead, a skilled fire mage will not fail quite as hard on an 1 as an unskilled one, that sort of things. As for character creation, you should give info about the following. Please note that your character is NOT skilled at magic (alchemy, cakemancery and other forms of "low" magics are okay) and generally not high on the social ladder.
- Name
- Civilian Job
- Additional Skill
- Equipment, Belongings
- Disadvantage (mentally or physically)
- Deity
Reapplicants will have their old character used and adapted to the new rules.
Anyway... for the setting. Here be the map:
Here's what happened so far.
The original cast were peasants and simple craftsmen drafted into the Vorogzvian army who planned to desert and got divine justification by way of a messenger of High Up telling them the world was in peril thanks to the
Angel of Death, and that they should go to the
Civilization of Magic in order to stop said Angel. As they wanted to leave the lowly village they started in, they were stopped by their Sergeant... who joined them. Just afterwards, a soldier was beat up for information and a patrol was avoided on the road towards the Iron Kingdom. Eventually, they reached the Vorogzvian border keep and planned to get through by subterfuge... which is where the story ends.
Time skip forward, we are now in the bustling castle-port city of Mystes, part of the Iron Kingdom. Nothing particularily exciting happened in between, except for a few things we must not mention involving cardboard boxes, industrial lubricant and an improvised battering ram that might have led to the demise of a few party members (we're not entirely sure). You're all in the inn known as "Deirdra's Refuge", trying to recruit some drunks and/or getting smashed.
What will you do?
