he doesn't have any agility based skills, so it would only impact his dodging (or blocking close range agility attacks, which certain blades allow you to use)

Oh okay.

Is it bad that I want someone to die so that I have a chance to play?

Quote
Eridraal throws a vial of toxins at the nearest gnome.
aim roll = 1
dodge roll = 6
the vial falls short of hitting the gnome, and smashes on the ground.

Dang, no splash damage? At least I got a bit of xp from the swarm hitting the gnomes.

"So all that's left is the pick?... Not sure what use it would be for me, but I'm sure our resident dwarf could find a better use for it, besides planting it up someones butt."

Seriously, the +3 to block would benefit a melee character more.

*IF there is a blasting cap left*

"Oh wait, whats this? *Picks up a blasting cap* A blasting cap I guess, one of the dwarves kept praising the masterwork of these. Could be useful for my alchemy experiments."

Acanthus and Luke_Prowler both have two caps. You can ask them for them.

"Could be useful for my alchemy experiments."

I guess you could combine one with your vial of toxins, giving the blasting cap a DOT in addition to its AOE.
Unless you have better Ideas...

(you'd still have to convince someone to share though...)

wagon loot
-5 dwarven blasting caps (throw to deal 10 damage in a 1-tile radius. Can also be used out of combat...)
-1 Mining Pick (+3 to block bypass rolls)
-1 heavy mining coat (+2 defense, -2 agility)

Fault already said there were 5 of them and I knew four of them were taken (although I didn't notice until after I had posted initially about the pickaxe).

I don't really have any ideas atm for using it with the alchemy stuff, was just giving an RP reason for grabbing one.

Making something akin to napalm does sound fun though :)

I took one, too, but I'd like to keep it for myself, since I only have one.
Acanthus has two, SMJ, so he can give you one and still have one for himself.

Oops, didn't see that. Anyways, what you said sounds fair to me.

Fault, would the 3 to block bypass rolls be useful for a ranged character? I'm just wondering here as I'm not sure I want the pick and besides, there will be chances for more loot.

block bypass rolls = hitting in melee (usually refered to as attack rolls.. it's a bit of a typo)
block rolls = not getting hit in melee
aim rolls = hitting in ranged
dodge rolls = not getting hit in ranged

I see. Barring RP reasons, the best character to benefit from that would be Raith (he could use it), but Dwarmin could easily use it for his character if he wanted to.

Edit: Actually, depending on the damage, it may not benefit raith, but nothing stopping Luke_Prowler from grabbing it for Raith or even *gasp* one of the elves grabbing it.

just putting this out there:

the wizard class has hella balance problems. I'm willing to take suggestions on how to make it play evenly with the other classes, but still keep it effective.
all I can think of now is adding a cooldown to the firebolt ability :-/

I would consider letting it miss.
