I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed.
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb

It´s the latitude. In Sweden days are longer  during summer. Historical vikings sailed mostly during summer (due to icebergs), and a mile was regarded as the distance travelled in half a day (in old Norse mile is written as "MIL", and the etymology comes from "meal", aka, the distance you travel before having lunch at noon). Since the time to noon, and consequently the distance, was longer than their Norman cousins down south, Swedish miles are consequently longer

I can't tell whether this is a joke or someone actually told you this once.

But it isn't true.
It's completely true. Tremendously true, believe me. .

The movies were right! Sometimes people do break into song in unison.

Isn't this technically singing in sequence?

Eh whatever. I knew unison was the wrong word but I wrote it anyway.

Well, for the person doing it, sure. Less so for the people in that person’s life.

Well, if you could do it as many times as you please, there wouldn't really be an issue with it in that regard. Besides the flagrant waste of expensive replacement bodies. And the cleanup. And probably going mad from repeated deaths, now that I think about it. Hmm, when I write it all out like that it really seems like it's still not the best idea.

Should we ever invent anything in the vein of full dive virtual immersion, where we can basically put ourselves into a Matrix-style world, then we can kill ourselves all we want, over and over, hundreds of times a second. You can live out your own Groundhog Day and try to escape from it through every form of suicide possible, all in the comfort of your own home.

I mean, I don't know why you'd want to do that, but we live in a world where voluntary amputation is real, so some people's minds are incomprehensible.
I don't know why you would specifically cite a setting where dying in the simulation kills you in real life. You couldn't come up with a better example?
