I had a haircut a while ago and I was extremely nervous beforehand, but the hair technician in question ended up being both friendly and skilled, and despite being seated in the (is there a proper name for the chairs?) chair looking at my ugly mug as I spoke to them I felt quite relaxed. They had some cool retro decor, too. I don't know quite what advice I'm trying to give here; go to a barber/salon with funky decor? The stylist was female and I didn't feel emasculated in the slightest, if that helps.
I actually felt more comfortable getting that haircut than I do in most social situations... perhaps I should go back for a trim?

That's a thing hair people are somehow good at. Chit-chat, small talk and all that stuff that can sneakily get you to relax. It's quite freaky how different it is to dealing with other service related people.

Especially once you consider you really shouldn't have many reasons to be relaxed because sharp things are snapping around your head all the time.

I don't like having my hair annoying, drooping too close to my eyes long, but nor do I like getting my haircut, chit chat or no.

Welp. Through the window it goes!

EDIT: We'd miss you terribly if you use your computer less as a result, but if it becomes necessary it becomes necessary. I hope it doesn't, though, and the depression decides to go the fuck away.

Meanwhile, do you prefer bunnies or dragons?

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Well, I lost my will to keep on going and felt terribly depressed.
Then, I decided I won't let this get to me, and I just need to take a break and resume work.
Now I'm stuck in a weird state, both excited and lethargic, unwilling to get anything done and st the same time wanting to do everything at once.
Keep pushing on the determination side. Think it up, even if you feel otherwise, even for a few minutes keep to that better idea.

I seem to have a pavlovian response of getting depressed every single time I sit down at the computer. Fuck.
The feeling or the thoughts associated with the feeling when sitting down? :O

4chan, both the asshole of the internet, and gathering place for edgy 12 year olds. Either way, I love it, and I'm sad to see moot go.

True free speech and human nature? :-\
It's not in human nature to do things asshole-y; that is upbringing or external influence. -_-
True free speech meaning 'you can swear and call anyone else what you want to even if its very negative' isn't...really free speech.
