So basically, it's "deal with" as in "deal with it". Simple.

"Deal with it" has two meanings though in as much as you can tell someone to just "deal with it" when there's a problem and that can often imply there's some sort of action e.g. fixing something that's broken, or sorting out a situation.

If you thole something there's no action involved other than simply enduring and accepting.

It's probable that some are doing it to be rude.  When dealing with businesses, they might have policies that can help if you make a complaint, but that get's tiresome quickly.  Depending on where you live, government employees might be required to respect your gender, but again, it probably takes extra time and effort.
I'm pretty sure that 'in public' would refer to somewhere like a street or a shop, not a workplace. So the people would be strangers who are just uninformed, rather than trying to make a dig at alleecat.

I was talking about those situations.  I'm sure many or most of them are just having a moment of awkwardness, like you're saying.  In a place that you have to go to often, it's worth getting that sort of thing straitened out.

I feel stupid and unsuccessful.  Yeah yeah, I know.  But that's how I feel.

I'm not sure how I'm going to survive the time until I get to grad school.

I think you're great.  You have a positive effect on others, and you've accomplished more than some people even aspire to.

Tolerate. It almost perfectly means tolerate.

Anyway, that's what all ISPs are like, at least in terms of "shitty service with no other choice".

Probably by being awesome. But it is okay not to know how that's going to happen. Good luck.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'd back up Ogdibus and say you're a pretty swell inspiration for many people, Vector.
A -LOT- of people.

Edit:
But this is why, come the revolution, we must be to expel the monster ISP that is BT:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I agree with you there it's the only ISP in my area and it sucks

Wow. I can't believe it. We have speeds of 23kb/s and even that is considered good.
Yeah, yeah Philippine internet. Our reputation preceeds us and all that.

I'm not going to have any internet access for I don't know how long starting tomorrow. 'Cuz I'm moving.

Might not be electricity either, I'll have to wait and see.

'Night everyone, I'm off to bed early tonight.

I have open sores on my head and they're weeping. So now I have two dressings tied onto my head with a long bandage. Bloody hell this is uncomfortable.

Vector you are probably one of the smartest and strongest people I have met and I know you will be able to make it through anything life throws at you.

Too many people around resorting to suicide. I wonder just how much it takes from "suicidal" to "dead"?

2nd person in a couple months, too. This world sucks.
