I like cold wet... I like dark and cloudy and rainy and especially lightning.
It rained today, so I'm told. In reality it was just some drops of moisture falling out of the sky for several minutes. That isn't rain. Rain lasts all day, and blots out the sun, and makes the world feel new... That was just a way to make you rush outside to grab the laundry.

I suggest you move to a Scandinavian country.

There's tons of tech here, as well as less rain and heat than the British Isles. There's also the bonus of some rather interesting solar cycles during the winter and summer seasons.

The only drawback is mandatory daily saunas - especially if you're in Finland.

Where I live in Canada you get about 1 or 2 months between complaining about the cold or the heat. Summer can hit about 32C, and winter can hit -40C. I'm very fond of the times of the year between the two extremes.

32C? THIRTY TWO DEGREE????
You call that hot? You honestly call that hot with a straight face? God man, that is spring for us! Mid to late summer can get into the high 40's! I would burn down every bee hive in Brazil for low thirty in summer!

Yes, I do call it hot. My body has adapted to survive the -40C by finding 32C extremely hot. I can barely function outside on the 32C days.

See, here we don't judge our temperature-peens by heat, we do it by cold. "You call -32C cold? How can you say that it's cold with a straight face? I would give my left nut for -32C in the dead of winter!"

Yea, it doesn't get cold here, not really. The coldest I have ever felt while being outside was -5. It was wonderful...

mandatory

What?

It's part of the legislature that forms the backbone of law in the Scandinavian countries, and has been for ages. Failure to comply with the demands often result in a heavy fine or a short-to-moderate prison sentence - not ruthlessly regulated, but many cases do exist.

Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds.

I'd call that sweltering with a straight face.

Look, I don't really care what anyone here says.  These people are my family.  They don't completely accept me.  That isn't a problem, it just hurts.

I'm upset because it turns out that the guy who got deported, my set theory grader, was actually one of my closer acquaintances in the math department.  He was a goddamned brilliant student, too--much better than I was.

*sigh*

Just look after yourself Vector. Do what you need to do to be able to get out of bed the next day with a smile.

I can't think of an even slightly original way to phrase wishing you well that doesn't sound overly melodramatic, so good luck, Vector.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Health down pills in my last game of Binding of Issac were labeled as health up. I went into the final two floors with three hearts (and because I knew I was fucked way less faith then I should have seeing as I was on not my A game. Or even B or C.) when I should have had nine.

Of course I died about three rooms in.
