Sweet bajeegus, what am I doing? I have run nigh-constantly for four years to train for cross country so that I could go from being literally the worst runner in the league to a member of a state-championship-winning varsity team. I only sort of made it. Last year, I barely made the team and we placed second. This year, I was solidly a member of the team, but we still placed second. It was this close. I feel like I should have been training harder so that we could have beaten them, but there's no use crying over spilled milk. At this point, I don't know what to do. I certainly didn't achieve my goal, but I might be able to recover it. I always thought I'd be glad to stop running, to reach the finish line.

But I didn't reach the finish line. The clock has run out, and I'm only within sight of it. So what to do? I could give up, but I would never forgive myself. Nay, I'm going to have to run my heart out for the next three months. It was never my original intention, but helping the Track&Field team win State will have to suffice. It's a lot harder to qualify for that, with only four runners in each event from each region going to the competition. At the moment, I'm ranked about 6th in the mile and 7th in the two mile. My two mile time is going to have to drop from 10:46 to under 10:00, or there's no way I'm even going. To place in the top 8 at State and get any form of points at all, I'll probably have to run under 9:45, a minute faster than my current PR. This will require mind-boggling amounts of training, in rain, sleet, and snow.

About to correct the MIR simulacrum I just did. I'm fully cognizant that I did it poorly, and thus the results will be bad. I'm kind of despairing. I started off really well, but around mid august I got stuck, and I've have had a slow start since the pseudo-holidays at the beggining of October, which has resulted in a nasty drop in my results :(

Thanks guys. I'm aiming for about 1,000 miles, most of it in speed workouts. (400/800/1600m repeats, for example.) I'm thinking about two hours of practice a day, if I can manage it.

Hell, if I can pull this off, I might be fast enough to run on a college team next year for Cross Country. That would be glorious. (I'll save the daydreaming for later, I have 10 miles to go run today.)

Truean has a point.  a breakup is hard, no matter how annoying the situation, when you're dependent upon your parents. And there's the fact that they're still your parents. You likely don't want to break up with them either

Thank you. Another thing to consider is what happens concerning your other relatives, especially the kids. I'd rather die than have my nieces and nephews told all gays are pedophiles and I'm gay so.... :(

@Truean: It's not about breaking up family because you disagree with something, it's about realising that the concept of "family" is people who accept and love you for who you are rather than the circumstance that you happen to be blood related. Then being true to yourself, because if you can't be true to yourself, you're never going to truly be able to be truly there for anybody else.

BONUS: Don't Panic. "If it's out of your control, or already happened, it's not as big a deal as you think it is. No exceptions. Worry never improved a situation, ever." If you can do something to improve the situation, then try doing it. If it works, great. If it didn't work, you tried to make it work.

I really wish I knew how to take your advice. I know you're correct, but I worry like hell.... I'm good at coming up with answers, but I have none. That scares me.

Moving mountains with my mind and nobody gives a fuck.... Taking on named partners, with a full staff, at a firm that deals with nothing but this type of law by myself! I happen to know they have, without the slightest exaggeration, 4 lawyers and 7 clerks opposing me by my lonesome on this god damn case! AND I'M FUCKING WINNING, but it's still not enough to please some people... [shiver]. Is the winning against crazy ass odds not good enough?

Did I mention yet another client showed up to the hearing for his drug trial totally strung out? I really don't see what the flying crap I can do when that happens. "Gee Your Honor, I ... um.... would you believe he's not high right now...? No...? Would you pretend to...? Please?"

If I again hear "can you just do [insert thing here]?" it'll be yet another straw on my back with plenty of company.... The fuck did I go to law school for...?

It is too warm here. I can't stand it, can't sleep any more. Too often I'm going the entire night without sleep, despite my best efforts... I hate summer. There are few things on earth I will honestly say I despise, but unpleasantly one of those things goes for a quarter of my entire life.

I should move somewhere cold one day. England is cold right? So is Canada? Maybe one of those places, they both seem nice. Australia is horrible, only fit for shipping convicts to.

I like cold wet... I like dark and cloudy and rainy and especially lightning.
It rained today, so I'm told. In reality it was just some drops of moisture falling out of the sky for several minutes. That isn't rain. Rain lasts all day, and blots out the sun, and makes the world feel new... That was just a way to make you rush outside to grab the laundry.

Where I live in Canada you get about 1 or 2 months between complaining about the cold or the heat. Summer can hit about 32C, and winter can hit -40C. I'm very fond of the times of the year between the two extremes.
