It makes me sad that people care more about Amy Winehouse than 85 teens who were killed painfully.
And also a little angry too.

It's making me sad, too. More RAAAAGEEY, though.

[EDIT] I'm almost always pissed off and/or sad. Being sad and angry a lot is making me sad.

Yeah, it's crazy... but another summer is almost gone by. The years start coming, and they don't stop coming.

Dealing with more familial crap. I'm considering cutting what ties remain with my parents, for the next several years, but I don't know what to do or where to go. I'm tired, hurt, and I need a way out. Despite my love for them, I don't think I can fix both my mother's life and my own.

-snip-

Wait. I sense a cunning plot! Gay marriage gets significantly more acceptance just before an almost inevitable, yet entirely unrelated, economic fustercluck? I foresee some idiotic false causation theories. Man. I really, really, really hope this post ends up being a proven-wrong joke, and not cynical prescience.

I was about to post this in the Happy Thread as a joke before I realized that this is probably a connection real, stupid people are actually going to make, and it's going to be awful because I won't be able to finish my rebuttal before my head explodes.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

*sigh*

Well, that's the second dude to suggest getting a female sex slave for Toady.  This time I'm actually attacking back rather than just reporting and moving on.

Why exactly would somebody think that was a good idea in the first place?

Well, it was a woman.

Great.

Now I'm in for a big fight, which I will probably lose.

So what? Because she's a woman it's ok for her to suggest we send Toady a sex slave?

It's a pretty fucking inappropriate thing to suggest no matter who you are, but then maybe I'm just letting my own experiences bias me.

(I'm aware that wasn't the literal suggestion BTW)
