I managed to sign up, but I thought the beta was open. Do I have to be lucky to get the invite?

Looks fun, but I hope it doesent turn into a gank(grief)-fest like so many other games, and has meaningful pvp instead.

PS: Did you guys give valid contact info?

Open beta starts tommorow/today, which is why the servers are down I assume.

And no, I don't usually give my real contact info for stuff like this, if I were paying for a sub I would, but not for beta.

Check the official forums and see if anyone has the same problem? it's very much still a beta, bugs everywhere.

When I was playing before I found a bandit camp, started fighting some of them and they went down really quick, thought it was wierd, then i noticed when i was looting taht some of the items dissapeared...

Turns out some other guy was there, and we were both invisible to each other. Mustve ninjad half his loot. Wasn't going to say anything, cause like... free loot! but then he dropped something on the ground and clocked me when i picked it up. :P

Lots of people with the same problem in the forums and no solutions.

The server has been patched to Open Beta and will be coming up shortly. In order to play the game, all you need to do is create your master and game accounts and download the client. See the Open Beta Information Station thread for details. Along with Open Beta is patch 3.00 and the following changes:

The interface now features tooltips and a help section. Hover over any part of the UI for a brief description, and press 'H' for in-depth help.
Your ability book now has skill actions, which let you hotkey actions such as Hiding and Mining
Fully implemented Hiding, Cooking, Brewing and Stealth
Majorly fleshed out Carpentry and Masonry
Four new buildings to build
Spellcraft will now increase from casting spells. The higher your Spellcraft, the less mana your spells cost.
Skill gain in spell casting is now based on the mana cost of a spell, so a spell that costs 10 mana increases your skill twice as much as one that costs 5
Fixed some issues with falling through the world in steep terrain
Ordinary chat will now only reach players near you. You will need to use faction, group chat or tells to communicate with players far away.
/ will now only display nearby players.
North Vynn is now fully spawned.
Several uninhabited islands have been added to the south, in the Free Waters.
You can no longer build settlements inside the safe areas
Cevanti can now be picked at char create
Added several new types of visible clothes such as robes
Lots of bug fixes and tweaks

As a final note, remember that this is not a marketing beta but a real beta test of the game. We still have many things to do before the game will be fully complete, and we trust you will provide the input and testing we need to make Dawntide shine. With that said: Welcome the Open Beta, and have fun!

Is the open beta up? The website has not been changed to reflect this, if it has.

Alright, well, after bringing up my difficulties on the forum, it has been revealed that my computer simply can't run Dawntide.  So I guess I just wasted the invitation, but at least the open beta is up now.

Right then.   Toodles!

What are the specs on this game?

I'm d/ling the client now. I don't really have much desire for an MMO....but I'm intrigued by the non-instanced design.

Has the low fps and menu/keystroke lag been fixed?

Major issues that keep me from playing.

If you're getting some ten frames per second at the start, just know that so is everyone else. Turning off shadows and getting to a different cell are supposed to help.

Also, set DT's priority to "below normal" to avoid input issues.

You seem to have misunderstood me.  My machine cannot run this.  I'm not running it poorly, I am incapable of getting it to start.  My computer does not have the required hardware to support it, and so the program crashes the instant I run the executable.

That's what I mean by not being able to run it.
