P.S. I like how we have more users with animated sprites for avatar. Much better than penguins :).

Which begs the question, what is WITH all the badly-drawn penguins in the first place? I'm probably revealing my not-cool-ness, but I totally don't get it.

Rochndil, who can see penguins associated with linux, but DF?

I don't remember who started it (Org? Yanlin? Someone else?), but it began on Various Nonsense, since locked down. I don't really understand it, either. Btw, does DF even have penguins?

DFComplete has it. Or should. If not, I'm making a new release tonight with some added features.

After all these penguins appeared they became a (not very important, but still) part of the DF community. There's an awful lot of these penguins, maybe they can be made into a full-fledged race that mainly occupies glaciers? It would be a joke mod, but a good one at least.

Say, is there a compilation of reasonably balanced joke mods anywhere? That would surely be fun to play...

Just watched Hellboy 2 yesterday and i loved the look of those sick swordselves in it so thats the direction I'm thinking of going with them... although they have to still be wood clad... and hence appear crap smeared.... stupid elves refusing to look cool!
Did you try other types of bark? Like white bark, birch.

Ok.. so bit of an absence there.. but i was taking the time to finish up a drawing i was doing for my folks and rearranged my sprite sheets into uniform order... so it should be WAY easier to write up the accompanying files... theoretically....

And did some more work on my version of humans job sprites. I'll do a medieval set after these two so you can have the choice :P.. Should go faster since I'll basically just change clothes and headgear on the sprites.. military will take longer.. but meh...

ANYWAYS:

Crafters -> -> ->
Fishery workers -> Cheese maker -> Farmer -> Furnace operator/wood burner -> Blacksmiths -> Gem cutter/setter

To Red Jackard: Good call.. i think you saved my military elves!

To Hungry: I dont know how that one slipped past me.. i'll fix him up now ><

[[Awesome]]

Coming along nicely.  Definitely a bit further away from the Toad look.

What might be interesting is if someone were to try and draw up some data to make two distinct types of humans to go along with your sprite sheets so that we could use both.  We could keep the current, vanilla humans with your near eastern look, and use a less sophisticated society for the medieval set to come.

I would consider it, but I have no idea how to do anything along those lines.

So I've been busy lately and haven't even had a fort up to the siege stage until just recently...and the goblin sheet doesn't seem to be working with Mayday's new package.  I've got the sheet saved as a png (and referenced it as such in the graphics_mayday), and copied over the text.  I get black squares with random accents like teeth as output.  No problem with any of my dwarves.

Any thoughts?

Is it only me or does the Furnace operator and Blacksmiths look like Solid Snake?
