Hey guys. Don't be hasty. Let's do a bit of math.

Cost to Fix Cloudrunner
- Bugfix one : 1.3 dice
- Bugfix two : 1.3 dice
- Bugfix three : 1.3 dice
- Performance fix 1 : 1.3 dice
- Performance fix 2 : 1.3 dice
- Finishing Cloudrunner : 6 progress : 2 dice
- cost to finish: 2 ore,  12 wood

Total : 8.5 dice, 2 ore, 12 wood

Cost to Replace Cloudrunner
- Gain from Scrapping Cloudrunner : 3 Dice 2 ore, 12 wood
- Estimated time to complete : Less than 24 progress  (= 7 dice)
- Cost to start project : 2 dice (I'm counting the initial progress die under estimated time to complete)
- Cost to make project : More than 7 ore per die
        - Probably around 50 resources

Total : 6 dice, 36 resources

Why must the revisions be bifurcated, by the way? It just makes some mutually exclusive and is a way of affecting "allowable" votes.

I say we have every engineer involved with the project commit honourable sudoku. (That is, reassign them to the accounting department, where they will spend the rest of their lives trying to make numbers fit together)

Anyway, I'm voting for the tactic of hunt-the-weak, no other revisions, and scrapping the Cloudrunner.

Revision 2:

Counter-suggestion:
ACHILLES  (Avoid Cannons, Hunt Injured, Launch Landers, Engage Survivors)
A simple addition to our tactics is the proper order of battle for our ships. When entering combat, ships make every move to evade hostile cannon fire, using superior maneuverability. Then, injured vessels (From the first volleys) are hunted down, one by one. THEN, and ONLY then, are the landing ships signaled to launch their boats, while the fleet covers them. Finally, any surviving hostile warships or new hostile arrivals are hunted down and killed.

OK, as for the design's issues...

Cancel the project. Word of GM (On Discord) is that we have most of the gains (Experience-wise) we're going to get.

Design Review Board: Cloudrunner
The Cloudrunner project was a hideous failure. The prime issues were caused by bickering and ineffective practices. Arguments delayed initial progress, and failures in design compounded those issues. By reviewing the entirety of the canceled design process, we can glean information on how to streamline and aid the design process. We shall unleash the unbridled power of BUREAUCRATIC EFFICIENCY and find all the ways to make such things faster than ever before!

Alright. Using those dice is going to mean we can't roll out a new ship design as fast as we want to. So, I'm voting for the tactics revision and disassembling the Cloudrunner project. We get three dice back from that project, and can save a total of 4 from this turn (Given a tactics revision to make us not die)

I think the scrapping should be a yes/no vote. Since Tack (and presumably Johiah) want to keep it, albeit in a different form.

Word of GM was that you can't turn a design into another design with a revision, so Tack's idea is unworkable.

What do you think decommissioning means? Yes I want to scratch it!

Sadly 'tis seeming that way.
After I pushed so hard for it too.

Tack's "decommissioning" vote is for a design changes revision, not scrapping.

It was originally going to be "change the project to pulling everything out of it and getting a research bump", but it got changed to a more ambitious and impossible thing.

So it's off the table now anyway.

Unless I can convince Draig that plasma causes a negative pressure zone :p

Select Skyskiff
One of the chief issues with the skyskiff has always been its size relative to lifting capacity.
The original design brief states:
Quote
Her small lift crystal means a lot of the burden for vertical maneuvers is still placed on the power hungry trim crystals, which in turn puts more demand on her small core.
By changing the standard-pattern skyskiffs to incorporate Itshana selects as the core and lift crystals, our Skyskiffs should see an increase in Shroud, speed and agility not only from the increased output of the core crystal; but the improved lift crystal taking the burden off the trims allowing for far greater energy efficiency should result in an even further increase in the skyskiff's combat potential.

Well...... That was basically a worst case scenario.... And bad timing on it too...

Nothing we can do about the whims of RNGesus unfortunately...
I agree with the notion of going ALL-IN for a Mk2 corvette next turn, leaving only a handful of dice to handle any bugs that may come up with it.

Draignean keeps saying we can refit production line skiffs, so, if nothing else, we can produce a few Itshana Select crystals to refit a few of our skiffs (Maybe scavenge Herbie's VS Itshana Select Core Crystal, and combined with a newly built one, tell our production line to build our 2 upcoming skiffs with those? Just idea crafting here...)

Can you (or anyone else really) please vote for the select skiff line refit? It is a good stop gap for the few turns until we can field a proper ship, and will help keep skiffs useful with the smallest possible cost.

I would have supported it any other time than now. If they drop marines on a homespire next turn, we're going to be hit with yet another significant disadvantage, and we have 0 intel on their big ship. We need to ensure our captains target the transport.

If we need (and can afford) Select-grade skiffs, we can upgrade them manually.
