Whats the difference between a landmark and a location?

So a landmark is something unique in itself (a giant spire sticking out of the ground, a deep pit or canyon, it's a unique thing.) a location is just empty barren rock, but it's much larger.

So one is a way to add new territory, while the other is to change an area and do something special with it.

Yeah, you should put it on something. I guess a location doesn't need to be rock, it just increases the territory you have to work with. So if you wanted a floating city, you could do so without rocks under it, but you'll still have to pay for the ability to use that territory.

Oh yeah, you all also get one free basic sun when you create your first land area. You don't have to worry about using points on that.

Also, if you plan on amassing points this turn and waiting until turn 2 to create things, please post saying you're doing so. That way I know who is finished with this turn (as opposed to not having taken an action yet).
