Turn 6: School of Hard Knocks
Jacob realizes that if the beast can't see, then it can't gore him to death! With this revelation, he moves in to shoot it in its other eye.
[Ranged Weapon: 4+1]
[?, END: 1+?]
[-Item: Crossbow Bolt]
The bolt flies straight and true, piercing the monster right in its good eye! With a roar, it pounds the ground a few times with its massive leg before slowly turning towards
Jacob. Steam flies out of it's nostrils again as it moves it to charge!
[?, STR: 3+?]
[Jacob, DEX: 6+1]
However, it turns out the creature isn't nearly as accurate without it's eyes. Still, it comes close enough to
Jacob that he has to dive out of the way. When he does so, however, he careens into one of the cavern walls, striking his head on the stone!
[Jacob, END: 1-1]
[Jacob has passed out!]
Meanwhile,
Gary continues assuming his tactically defensive position behind the stalagmite.
"
I'm a doctor, not a fighter! Besides, I'm sure you'd rather I survive. After all, this beautiful face is worth taking a beating to protect."
As
Gary cowers, Jerila lets loose an arrow into the beastie's maw!
[Ranged Weapon: 5+1]
While the arrow does in fact fly into its mouth, it doesn't appear that it had any effect at all, besides causing the monster to turn towards
Jerila and charge!
[?, STR: 3+?]
[Jerila, DEX: 5+1]
Jerila gracefully sidesteps the attack ... right into the wall.
[Jerila, END: 1-1]
[Jerila has passed out!]
With two teammates down and a pissed-as-hell monster,
Ardelion attempts to extinguish the beast with his ice!
[Ardelion, Magic: 3+2]
[?, DEX: 2+?]
[?, END: 2+?]
Bolt after bolt of ice pounds into the monster, the first slamming into the front leg, and a second slamming into a hind leg, completely tearing it off! The monster teeters for a second before crashing to the ground, howling in what appears to be agony.
With a shrug,
Ae-Hale attempts to seduce the beast again for shits and giggles.
[Magic: 4+2]
In a second, the monster's wailing dies down to whimpers as it begins dragging itself towards
Ae-Hale. It doesn't get far, having only three legs, one of which barely works.
