Can equipment bring you over stat caps?

They can, but don't expect to get any items that level your stats up faster :P


but what sort of bonus gets applied for being worth 3 perks, not just one?

Okay, things to resolve because Shade got backed into a corner (in my opinion, and some of his logic is even sound :P) while i was offline:

1. Skills that use items require items, either the fully crafted item, the reagents to make them, or money. Only the Alchemist can have implied items, because they will be gathering reagents almost constantly and this can break flow. However, If you plan on giving an item to another player, You need to craft them first.
2. I like the carry weight idea. But the starting item limit seems a bit weak. Bumping it up to 5 Equips and 10 Items. Should be a decent amount if people want to start off with a few crafting supplies (for backstory and such)

now that that's done, I'll be looking at sheets tonight.

But Sanure agreed with most of your things? I don't think you got carried away, you're a GM of this too.

5 and 10 seems a bit much, to be honest. 3 lets you have a weapon, armor, and an extra thing. 10 seems a bit much for items.

Maybe have starting items depend on class? It makes sense that say, an alchemist would have a ton of items, but just how many does a Warrior need?

thought about that as well. Having it depend on class would help, but that still doesn't solve the problem of item and equipment starting limit. A warrior might have more equipment than armor, but they would still need scabbards (if they store the second weapon) or a backpack if they have items the need.

5 Equips is enough for a sword, a shield, Armor, Cloak (if you need one) and maybe a ring or bauble or a second weapon if you need it.

I would think that scabbards and such were just assumed to come with the weapon. I also don't see why ammunition needs to be tracked; it's just more work for the GMs and the players. Maybe special ammo would be tracked, but even then it could be tracked on a per-battle basis.
