Chapter 6: Discount Bloodbath
Location: Grand Fairbank Mall, Toronto, Canada
"1,000,000 deaths is a statistic, 1 death is also a statistic." - Joseph Stalin when he didn't Understand Nuance
Kars had been quite literally roasted by Johnny Jokotaru last turn, his back still sizzling with the heat residue of Dog Days' furious punches, but he isn't one to let this minor set-back stop him. He stands straight up, his body contorting in all sorts of weird shapes to do so.
"I admire your skill and courage, Jojo. Truly, I do. But there's one thing you have to know about Pillarmen...To us, you're nothing more than PREY!" In an act close to desperation, Kars bares his claws and lunges at Johnny, [4+2-2 vs. 3+3] but the Jojo ducks out of the way, [7+2 vs. 1+2-2] and uppercuts Kars, sending him upwards in an arc. As he comes down, Johnny jumps into the air to meet him, the visage of Dog Days appearing right besides him.
"TORIYA TORIYA TORIYA!" The flurry of punches rattles Kars, who in his injured state is unable to defend himself at all against the Johnny/Dog Days combination hooks and jabs that mark him from head to toe, coming in at roughly 100 hits per second. Johnny cocks back his fist for one final punch, an overhand smash that lands square into Kars face and sends him flying into the ground. Kars slams through the floor and into the underground of Canada, speeding down into the Earth like a giant drill. He passes the mantle and ends up penetrating the Earth's core. There is piercing avian cry from the depths of the planet that can be heard throughout the mall and all of the Canadian country. Johnny watches as the crater he create spews a funnel of hot magma, the final splash of his rival, before it sinks back down into the core.
Johnny Jokotaru sent Kars down under! [+1 Kill]
+Ability: Self-Existence Manipulation/Dimension Traveling (Active): Johnny can freely enter into and out of the 'Non-Dimension', a plane that exists outside of the "real" universe. Whenever Johnny makes this transition, all previous wounds, ailments, on going buffs, etc. from the previous dimension disappear. (Equipment is retained.) The Non-Dimension is a mysterious land filled with wondrous and horrific phenomena unknown to mortal, so there is great reward and risk in traveling to the Non-Dimension. Traveling between the dimensions takes intense concentration, thus it takes a full turn to activate this ability, and if Johnny is interrupted at any point during the process it will be canceled. The Huntress firmly shakes the hand of the Peacekeeper, keeping her sword hand armed as the greeting is exchanged. Once it is over, the Peacekeeper looks around the area while unholstering his rifle.
"It's pretty quiet around here, eerie kinda. Most people must still be in those big stores fighting. Do you have any plans? We could always grab something to eat," he says, waving the barrel of his gun at the sprawling Food Court.
AL-2048, the last Stormtrooper standing, was growing increasingly distraught with the mishmash of fighters taking each other on with all sorts of bizarre fighting styles, not to mention the ever growing number of motorcyclists appearing. Deciding that a series of explosives would be the best way to deal with this new faction, AL-2048 vaults out of a window of the castle onto the ground below, and then rolls behind a metal statue of Super Dude, the Raddest Superhero. [5 vs. 4+2+2] [9 vs. 2+1] The Road Warrior idles on his bike, looking for his next target, when he spots a bunch of metal spheres rolling up to his position. He's fast enough to react and drive away, but his companions are not. The original Brother-at-Arms and Magical Girl Brother are the closest and as soon as the explosions hit they are gone, leaving nothing but scraps of bike metal and a few pieces of clothing. Pleasant Brother loses his bike in addition to his right leg, but remains alive if totally vulnerable. Once the explosions cease, The Road Warrior spins his bike around, and with a vengeful heart, rides straight for Super Dude's statue, specifically for the Stormtrooper hunkering behind it. [6+2 vs. 7] The Road Warrior passes the statue and unloads a volley upon AL-2048, before driving off; a stray bullet catches the Stormtrooper in the back, but thanks to cutting edge Imperial armor, he suffers no actual damage.
The Evul Mage continues to fly around like a big magic asshole, blasting everyone with indiscriminate Dark Explosions. The first couple of these appear from his Wand and fly straight at Ungrim Ironfist, [2 vs. 4] [7 vs. 1] the first of which misses and rewards the Evul Mage with the dwarf angrily shaking his fist at him. The second explosion lands right in front of the dwarf however and sends him flying backwards, burning his face quite badly. The second couple of Dark Explosions target Segata Sanshiro, [5 vs. 3] [2 vs. 7] the first one lands nearby, leave some burn marks on his left arm. Once the Sega master realizes what's going on, he avoids the following explosion by leaping into the air and lunging at the mage as he passes by. [9 vs. 9] Segata gets a hold onto the Evul Mage and the two of them result in mid-air for a few moments before the mage is able to kick the Segata off of him, and Sanshiro lands back on the ground on his feet, still in a fighting stance. The Evul Mage now sends his next attacks at Segata again, probably getting back at him for that little wrestling episode just now, [2-1 vs. 7] [8-1 vs. 9] though Segata fearlessly charges forward in between the two explosions which slam into the aisle behind him. [2 vs. 6] The Evul Mage dodges Segata as tries to hit him with a flying kick, and the Shogun kicks off of a wall and propels himself back at the mage, [7 vs. 9] and misses with a flying punch. The Mage fires more Dark Explosions at Segata. [6-3 vs. 7] [4-3 vs. 2] The Mage is starting to get sloppy, as Segata easily dodges the first explosion, and has to work to dodge the next one but it still nets him another dodge. [4 vs. 1] Segata jumps up and grabs the mage by his left leg, putting him in a leg hold while the magician furiously tries to shake Segata off! [3 vs. 4] The Mage wins this grapple once again and kicks Segata to the ground. The mage turns his attention to Aeyza, who has grappled upon the wall. [6-5 vs. 4] [1-5 vs. 8] The first explosion lands no where close to Aeyza and the second one actually explodes on the Mage himself. [7] Fortunately, it only results in minor burns. Unamused, Aeyza points the Railcannon at the Mage and fires, [2+4+1 vs. 9] and the first shot misses, [5+4+1 vs. 1] while the second doesn't miss, in fact it not-misses so well that it sends the Evul Mage flying into the nearest wall and exploding into itty bitty pieces.
Aeyza railed the Evul Mage! [+1 Kill]
+Ability: Cross Creation (Active): Aeyza can create crucifixes made of Divine energy. These crucifixes can manifest anywhere from many small crosses to one giant cross."All right, men. Let's move out and eliminate all hostiles." Coil's troops spread throughout Ditches & Hoes, looking for competition to engage. They find a Samurai squaring off against a skeleton in a car, and decide that they are as good targets as any. Alpha Squad fires at McKatana, [5+2 vs. 6+1] and the Samurai is able to turn away from the Bentley in time to face the onslaughts of bullets, where he calmly takes his Katana and deflects each shot fired at him. When this fails to work, Alpha team's Minigun fires at both McKatana and Skullduggery. [5+4 vs. 1+1+2] [3+4 vs. 10] McKatana is utterly lit up by the Mini-gun fire, which shreds his protective robes to pieces and fills his torso and limbs with holes, though his robes were able to take enough bullets to prevent him from getting killed immediately. While he falls immediately, Skullduggery is able to start up his car and spin around outside of the cone of the Minigun, at the same time flicking his wrist to send a fireball at the gunner. [6 vs. 8] The Mini-Gun soldier A ducks as the fireball sails into a display behind him.
Beta Squad approaches from another angle, [4+2 vs. 7] firing at Skullduggery Pleasant since McKatana has already gone down. However, their coordinated fire is not enough to put anything more than a few superficial holes in the side of Skullduggery's speeding Bentley. He shoots his Revolver at them as he passes by, [5+2 vs. 3+2] and manages to take out two of the soldiers in the squadron with quick headshots. Beta Minigun steps up and fires at both combatants, [4+4 vs. 3+2] [7+4 vs. 6] McKatana flails on the ground as the second Mini-gun pumps more lead into him, and then the Bentley is shot up really badly, to the point where it stops moving at all, its engine sprouting a massive fire.
Coil watches this all far in the rear.
Johnny gives Dog Days a high-five.
The Road Warrior speeds away from AL-2048, soon he would have his revenge but first he had to focus on the flying menace, that is, before the Evul Mage gets obliterated by a Railcannon strike. Pleasant Brother rolls around on the floor, bleeding everywhere and shouting about Valhalla. [Constitution: 5] Pleasant Brother coughs up blood and stops shouting, it appears his time on Earth will not be for much longer.
Segata Sanshiro holds up the Sega Saturn controller in front of him as a giant shield to stop any stray bullets from hitting him, but only a few are shot this round, and mainly in the other direction at the lone Stormtrooper. Segata puts his training device down, and waits for The Road Warrior to come driving by. When he does, Segata leaps out of the aisle, flying at the biker and unleashing his patented Blitz attack, [7 vs. 9+2+2] which The Road Warrior swerves around, leading Segata to fly into a pile of stuff animals. The Road Warrior turns around and fires Brother Koch at the martial arts master, [3+2 vs. 5] but Segata flips onto his feet and begins to deflect the bullets with a faster-than-light set of Sumo palm strikes. When TRW runs out of ammunition, Segata lunges at him once more, [10 vs. 7+2+2] but The Road Warrior ducks under his grasp yet again. As Sanshiro goes flying overhead, The Road Warrior quickly reloads and shoots more, [4+2 vs. 5] and hits Sanshiro in the leg with a grazing shot. Sanshiro yells something in Japanese and does an unnecessary wall run into a backflip.
The Viking at Stamford Bridge coughs up a good deal of blood and then stares Shadowsteel in his dark, depressing, deadly dooming dark midnight black raven death death sad eyes, who knew that he would end up hating a hedgehog as much as he hated the English? With a fierce determination and final nod of respect for a great fighter, he picks up his fallen Dane Axe and charges at the OC, [1-2-2 vs. 9+2] though the sly hedgehog dodges the swung axe at the last second and sticks his leg out, tripping the sprinting berserker. [6-2] The Viking goes flying face first into the ground, his axe skidding away from him and his face bloodied and broken.
Coldsteel, with a wicked evil grin of badly badness walks over to his fallen foe, now grounded and heavily wounded.
"tiem to kill you you stupid fucking fucker go to fucking hell fuck". After gracefully narrating his sentiments, Coldsteel begins to wrap telekinetic energy around the Viking's throat. [8+3 vs. 6-2-2-1] The Viking rolls around a bit, clawing at the invisible forces that are quite visibly constricting around his neck. With the last bit of fight left in him, he points at Coldsteel, as if to say he'll be back from this and that the eternal fight is never over, before he goes limp.
"fuk ye4ah" Coldsteel says as he runs circles around the Viking's body.
Coldsteel the Hedgehog suffocated The Viking at Stamford Bridge! [+1 Kill]
+Ability: Darkness Attacks: (Active) +2 to Darkness type Attacks. Does not stack with Chaos Control, as it is a different power altogether.McKatana tries to stand up, [Constitution: 1] and falls back down into the puddle of his own blood. Damn, was he going to die like this? Yes he was. How dishonorable, not even getting in a single strike back, gunned down from an enemy that wasn't even aiming for just him. Where did the days of honorable single combat go? The Samurai disregards this, for now, it is time to rest and sleep peacefully. He closes his eyes.
McKatana was slain by one of Coil's Mini-gun Soldiers. [+1 Kill]
+Squad: Chi Squad w/Medic, & Pocket Pistol Item for Coil.Skullduggery Pleasant watches as McKatana is gunned down in front of him and his car is shot down once again, as he is faced with a larger, potentially more dangerous foe, certainly a more numerous one. Knowing that he must bring his fighting to the next level, he runs out to the trunk of his car and pops the trunk, revealing the glowing, almost pulsating black armor inside, imposing and malicious-looking. He slips into onto his figure, power and hate surging through his body! He might want to step away from his burning car at some point as well.
"Ahh, to die in battle." Ungrim Ironfist muses this pleasant thought as he picks up his massive Dargo Axe and walks down the aisles of Toyworld, looking for an opponent to face. The first he happens to find is Segata Sanshiro, and deciding that the Sega master would be a good challenge, Ungrim charges at him with his axe held high over his head. [Willpower: 7] Ungrim is briefly distracted by Segata's beautiful hair, but shakes off the awed sensation and continues his bloodlusted attack, [3(Auto-miss) vs. 2] but Segata cartwheels out of the way as the axe smashes into the ground. [1 vs. 4] Segata punches the Dwarf in the head, which due to a combination of helmet technology and the tenacity of a dwarven skull, fails to do any damage.
Aeyza rids himself of the distraction of the Evul Mage and gets upon the ground, moving towards the castle when he spots the final Stormtrooper alone, covered by a large statue and still alive, which the supersoldier sought to change. He raises his railcannon up and props the butt against his shoulder, firing powerful bursts of energy at AL-2048's position. [6+4 vs. 8] [1+4 vs. 7] The first shot of the Railcannon hits the statue and destroys the lower section, causing it to fall over! The blast itself sends the Stormtrooper flying backwards, while a second shot fails to hit anything of note besides a wall. The large statue topples in the direction of several fighters in the area! [7+1] [9+1] [10] [2-2] The Road Warrior drives off before he can be crushed while Aeyza rolls out of the way of the falling structure. Segata simply uppercuts the section of the statue falling on top of him, creating a safe, Segata sized hole. Ungrim however, is unaware of the felled statue due to his blood lusted state, and Super Dude's head pulverizes him into the ground.
Ungrim Ironfist the Slayer King was crushed under a statue!AL-2048 gets to his feet after being flattened by a Railcannon blast, but fortunately it was not a direct shot or else he would be a goner. He spots Aeyza dodging a falling statue and takes the opportunity to fire some blaster charges in his direction, [9-1 vs. 5+1] and shoots the soldier in the right ear, shaving part off it of!
A bald guy in a suit steps out of one of the changing rooms in C.J. Daniel's.
Kyoko wakes up on the ground, face-down, her Modular Spear rolling away from her before coming to a stop against a wall.
Crusty Pete climbs out of a toilet at Ditches & Hoes.
An old-fashioned boxing ring spontaneously appears in the middle of the Food Court, and with it, an extremely muscular bald man with a fabulously large mustache, wearing nothing but a tight wrestling suit. "You want to know what's rubbish? Fighting. I profess, ninety-nine percent of it is rubbish. Long before me, in those primitive and nasty times, they fought with magic where one horn-glassed lad could take on one hundred fighters single-handedly! And it is no better now, when all a chap has to do is pony up money for a rifle! Where is the honor in that? Even among all these fighters, I doubt a single one could best me in a fair match. Let me entertain the thought that their stuff is up to scruff." He leans against the robes, stretching his back and eagerly waiting a worthy challenger.
