T2 'Breaker' Tank
Built from the ground up with RHA and a new 1.8-inch cannon about 6-7 feet long set in the turret as the primary gun along with a stallion on the cupola pintle mount for AA and two brumbies, one in the hull and one coaxial, as MG firepower, the breaker is in all ways intended to replace the old smasher. More heavily armed and armoured than it's predecessor, along with being faster and mounting a model 3 radio system. The biggest difference in the tank is the use of a five-man crew, one loader, one gunner, one commander, one driver and one radio operator/hull gunner.

Your engineers set to work on a tank. A tank to be impervious to fire! A tank to break the lines! A tank to take back the desert! A tank to to bring glory to Moskurg! A tank to be feared!

T2 Breaker: A tank built from new Rolled Homogenous Armor, like tanks should be made of. It is medium armored throughout, with a slanted front but mostly square. The turret is specially cast as a rounded dome. Includes a new 1.6 inch rifled Breaker cannon, with a long barrel, suspension and muzzle brake. The Breaker cannon can fire about 24 times a minute, it is single loaded by hand. It also has a coaxially mounted Brumby. The exit hatch in towards the mach of the tank and includes a pintle-mounted Brumby. The tank is a heavy, it sits on wide cowled treads and is powered by a big 12-cylinder engine, and can get up to about 25 mph. Crewed by a driver, loader, gunner, and commander. The radio is usually omitted due to the already very steep cost of the tank: It requires 5 ore, 3 oil.

This new tank is a pretty kickass piece of engineering, it's heavier, faster and better armed and armored than your previous tank. However, cost is going to be an issue...

Would it be possible to have a "command" version, which has the radio?

Is it very expensive? I think we should revise it to reduce cost.  Oil first.

At current levels, is that Very Expensive or A National Effort?  If the latter, I am definitely open to Revision suggestions on how to reduce material costs (or improve engine efficiency) to pull that expense down a touch without sacrificing ability.

Either way, barring a bomber I doubt they're getting past that thing at all.

Though, revision-wise, we could just take that cannon and use it as a straight-up field gun as well.

What are you thinking, throw some spikes it can jam into the ground on, then tow deployable versions into the field with Struunks that carry their 3 man crews with them?  [Gunner, loader, engineer].  Would work as a defensible emplacement, I daresay.

Edit:  Can we fit five people in a Struunk?  If so, you can use a skeleton Struunk crew (driver, gunner) and carry the three gun crew and the cannon, or the gun crew in one Struunk and the cannon in the other.

It requires 3+2 = 5 materials you don't have. That just squeezes it in to the tip top of Very Expensive, on the new system.

Hrm.

Break-And-Reassemble Cannon:  Literally a Breaker cannon that has been taken off the Breaker, this cannon has been slightly redesigned with heavily standardisable parts.  It is set up so that it can be taken in parts from the depot, loaded onto a Struunk with a skeleton crew whilst its three man crew ride in another (gunner, loader, engineer/spotter) and driven to the target location.  Once there, the entire crew has been trained to assemble it from parts within 2-10 minutes (hopefully less).  Comes with a deployable base to anchor it, some light aluminium panels that can be driven into the ground to provide elementary protection from stray bullets for the crew, and a pair of binoculars for the spotter.  The cannon is designed to be disassembled for redeployment as quickly as it can be assembled, although one may have to carry buckets of water to cool it down enough to do so immediately after fire.

A stationary gun that can be deployed and redeployed as needed.  Requires co-ordinated logistics, mind.

Hmm. Well, there's a few things that could use revision:

The brumby being made less complex (Which would almost certainly ensure we use more of them around the place)
Revising the engine of the Breaker to make it more fuel efficient.
Making the rhino reloadable.
Turning the Breaker's cannon into a field gun in it's own right.
Shaped Charges for our AT munitions

So Iituem, why do we need a strunnk specifically to load it onto?. Why not also make it so we can load onto a mule so we get a nasty little surprise to give Arstotzka in the mountains.

What would a revised fighter to get an all-aluminum body cost?  Very expensive, same as the normal one does this year?

If so, Revise the fighter, to get an all-aluminum body and one of the new radio sets.

This is my vote.

Revise the Bombardier into being a better gun so the other side stops having a quality advantage in artillery.

Team of mules would work, I daresay.  Or about twenty very burdened soldiers, heheh.

All we have to do is design a more fuel-efficient engine for the T2 and that'll bring its cost down to 2 oil, then we'll have a cheap enough tank to negate the advantage the enemy is getting with their super car!

Increased fuel efficiency in engines.

Huh.  That should actually help all our vehicles.  +1 to engine efficiency!

Maybe even take us up to diesel over petrol, who knows?

Edit: New prop-sal, will def-nit work!
