Aur's talk about family seemed to hit a nerve.

"Hmph. What's so great about family anyway?"

Aurelian seems a bit taken aback by the statement. After a moment though, a few gears turn in his head. "I... Think I can guess. You know, there was a guy I used to practice with, back home when I was in the militia. Always hated leaving practice, always came to it happy and gave it his all. Got antsy whenever people mentioned family. Come to find out he had a real nasty home, bad folks. Don't think I ever saw him happier than when I saw him leave. He told me something before he left."

"'Family are those you care about, and who care for you too.' Well... I don't know your situation, but for whatever its worth, I'm sorry to hear." The knight held out a gauntlet for a handshake in peace offering.

"It is an axe, miss. It hasn't growled, twitched on it's own, or devoured my immortal soul while I was carrying it, so it's probably safe."

Irios hardly wanted to listen to the knight but did so anyway; begrudging gratitude for seeming to care soothed the violent flame.

"When you put it like that, it sounds like something anyone can call theirs." It sure sounded like Ayzebel anyway.

Irios shook the outstretched hand, accepting the offering.

"I probably reacted a bit harsh, so for that I apologize. Unpleasant memories and all that."

"Its fine. We all have our hills and valleys. Its what makes people who they are, I can't blame someone for that."

"I've personally just always found it better to focus on the positive: we got a shard and we're back home. One step closer."

"Ah, ahhh yes! It is a shard." Royal Priest was quite happy after opening the box. He unceremoniously snapped the framing of green glass and extracted the tiny shard.

"I shall summon the enchanters, prepare the liquid of binding, and place this tiny speck amongst its crystal brethren. First, though..." He looked at Prince's entourage.

"I feel some quite peculiar and unnatural energies from one of you. Say, did you bring, hmmm, any artifacts from the other world?"

Maribel jerked, as she realized that the tube she was carrying was most likely the artifact, with how it seemed to always be almost uncomfortably warm. Probably also the reason why it was so heavy..
"Ah, yes! Here. Careful, its heavy.."
Give him the tube.

The elderly priest almost fell to the ground with an 'oompf!', before pair of his apprentice lifted the tube for him.

"Hmmm hmm, some twisted, peculiar energy is stored in this tube. As if fire, but without flame. As if dark magic, but not evil... I shall have our magicians do research on this metal. Maybe later we can fashion it into something useful. I will be going now. You should go rest. You did a fine job. I'm sure Prince Aliberti is proud of you." Royal Priest gathered his apprentices and they all left, leaving Prince's companions alone and purposeless for the time being.

Still staring off and clutching his head, nursing a migraine, Chance slowly recollected himself.
: "...I suppose I am glad enough that we made it back here in one piece."
He turned in Miranda's general direction.
: "Please do be more careful next time, that blow could have easily damaged our only way back home."

Once the apprentices had left, Maribel rubbed her head, and laughed.
"Two... Two weeks? Ha..Hahah..Hahah! Two whole weeks.. I can't believe that... I.."
Maribel grew quiet, and said nothing, hand covering her face.

Kerr stared after the prince, barely noticing the discussion going on around him.

"Dammit, I hope he'll be ok... Ugh, if they thought we were dead... AUR, do you think they told Dad?"

Giuseppina lightly scratched the back of her head embarrassedly and took the axe.
:"If... if you say so..."

Deadpan, she said dryly...
"Look on the bright side. If you are turned into some kind of ravenous demon-host, the rest of us are probably doomed too."

She looked at Maribel, her head cocked slightly.

"Miss Maribel? Why are you so distressed at it being two weeks?"

The knight turned from his conversation with the priest and blinked. The answer to his question was the worry on his face. "...We better go tell him quickly Kerr."
