Unsure of which to grab, you attempt to grab them all.
Muut disappears in a blast of smoke, and the three books fly off in different directions.
Rewop flies off across the river, towards a wall you somehow know to be the eastern one.
Essenif flies off to the western wall, on your side of the river.
Ecneilliser flies and lands on the bridge.
The river runs from west to east, slanted slighty north to south.
The river seems to deepen, and the waters become more vigorous.
The mariachi man flips through the air and lands in front of you, sending a gout of flames forward that knock you into the southern wall.
The three books begin to hover in place above where they fell, with Ecneilliser being barely visible behind the Latino man.

Might as well chalk it up to Pathos.
As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

The mariachi man laughs a hearty laugh, before it gets cut short by a shoulder to the chest.
He topples over, and you rush past and grab Ecneilliser.
The book begins to shine brightly in your hands, and trembles, as if dying to be opened.
The mariachi man gets up and faces you.

You start backpedaling away from the mariachi man as he let's out a fiendish howl.
The book vibrates violently as you press your thumbs to the sides and thrust it open.
As the book is opened, an amalgamation of colors spring forth and wash over your eyes in blinding incandecence.
Your Toughness has increased!
Your Willpower has increased!
Your Destiny has increased!
The book, along with the other two, vanishes without a trace.
The mariachi man opens his mouth, shouting "ĦEl Diablo!" and a ball of fire flicks off his tongue and starts hurtling towards you!

You charge towards the fireball and jump to the side at the last second.
You then run up and grab the mariachi man by the throat, and throw him down into the river, sending a torrent of water flying upwards.
The water swirls into a massive tornado and explodes outward into a tsunami.

You feel a drop of water hit you in the forehead.
You push the self help book off of you, and onto the floor, and look up.
The ceiling's leaking again.
The clock says it's 6:13 am.
There's a bit of light peeking through the curtain, and you can see a faint shape on the other side, blocking out the light in a vaguely humanoid shape.
You're slightly hungry and thirsty, and a bit drowsy.

You get up and yell at the window.
"Damn it, Muut! You are supposed to stay in my dreams!"
You then walk over to the desk and pick up your wallet. It contains a 10 dollar bill and a pair of 1 dollar bills, along with a food stamp card, and your ID.
You set your wallet back down, since your bed clothes don't have pockets, and head to the kitchen, repeating yesterday's steps to make ramen noodles, as well as making some tea.
You have 1 pack of ramen noodles left, 9 tea bags left, and slightly more trash in the waste bin, as well as your 3 cans of pink lemonade, which you haven't gotten into today.
You start cleaning up the dishes again.
You feel fine, overall, now.
