My laptop is fried, so I can't run my other games. However, I still feel like running something, so I'm doing this on my iPod. Don't expect me to show a stat page or anything like that on every turn, nor expect me to show you every roll I do.
This is by no means minimalist, but I'll try to keep it from getting as complicated as most of my stuff.

Your Internet consists of nothing more than various forum threads, links to the Dwarf Fortress main page on Bay12, and a couple links to Youtube.

You minimize the browser and boot up Dwarf Fortress.

While waiting for the world to update, look around where we're at.

You find that there are no worlds ready, so you set one to generate with default settings.

To your left on the desk, is a digital clock reading 9:34 pm.
On the right is a stack of 4 books. On top is Sun Tzu's Art of War.
Behind you, on the floor is a mattress. There is a window with a curtain over it, and two doors on the wall opposite it. One of them looks like a closet door.
The room is otherwise barren, and the ceiling is in poor repair, with visible water damage.

Look through the closet door then go back to your computer.

And create a fortress on horrifying glacier biome.

You get out of your seat and walk over to the closet door to open it.
There are some shirts, pants, and coats hanging on the closet rod. At the bottle of the closet is a small filing cabinet and a couple pairs of worn out shoes.
On the shelf above the rod is a small box.
You close the closet door and head back to the computer and sit down.

The world is done generating, so you load up fortress mode and find the most inhospitible glacier in the world, in range of 3 seperate necromancer towers, with a dwarf civ that's at war with both the humans and the elves.
Would you like to embark carefully?

Indeed. Bring four axedwarves with leather armor and helms, while one of the remaining knows basic medicine. Spend the rest of the points on dogs and various seeds/booze.
