Dev, what's your problem?  Nobody ever dies, so the item is completely useless.  Therefore, when people spend their money on it, they'll actually be making themselves weaker since they aren't buying guns.  If anything, that'll result in the game being slightly harder, which is what you want, right?

A fairly normal machete, mostly made from mundane handwavy future space steel, except for the edge, which is made from hexbug sharpened to a monomolecular edge. Not as damaging as a monoatomic razor, but very sturdy and prone to not exploding in your face.

@Helmet: Ok then, if you absolutely want it to work via perfect prevention, then I'll take it back to the council and we'll come up with a  new price. I'll also yank at pw's ear a bit to ensure he reads the various arguments (I'll copy paste the ones from here as well) and get some input from him. But if that is still not good enough, well, they can't all be winners.

Much obliged. Sorry for lateness of council update, haven't had a lot of time lately.

So, about that helmet, first a small clarification about the fibroblast treatment:

Fibroblast prevents stat loss from physical trauma, namely death. Mental trauma or brain damage don't count.

Now then, after quite some discussion on how to do this, the council came upon this final proposal after voting on it. This system came from pw himself by the way, and had to be passed through majority vote after much debating.

I'd say we should go 4 tokens, single use, single mission duration. However, it should have an upkeep cost. So buy for 4 tokens, keep it going into the next mission for 2. If you skip the upkeep it runs out and you have to buy it new again.

So there you have it, straight from the source. Works for regular peeps and braincases, also protects from brains permadying from going stale. Feel free to ask for clarifications if something is unclear.

IBSM (Intentionally Boring Space Machete)

It looks like a space-machete, but actually it... it's a space machete.
It does have one trick up its sleeve; it's really sharp. Like, really sharp. No, not that sharp.
Well, yes, it's not quite as sharp as certain other weapons on the market, but unlike the force monosword and monoatomic razor , it neither explodes nor explodes the things it hits! Which is is, uh, a good thing? If you don't like explosions for some reason? Let's move on.
Yes, uh, it's very sharp you see. What's our secret? The edge of the weapon is made from glorious hexbug steel, folded over ten thousand times. Pretty cool huh?
I can't think of anything else to say about this weapon, so I'll summarize! It's sharp! It doesn't explode! It's cheap! It's got a cool ARM logo on the side!
Right, go on, buy it already.

This is a mostly mundane looking modern machete. The edge is made from Hexbug, and as such it's very sharp, though not quite monomolecular, and is very hard to dull or break by hitting things.
It doesn't do as much damage as a monoatomic razor in general, but the user is not in danger of the filament breaking or accidentally causing explosions. Users with more strength will do more damage, so a bigger version might be an ideal weapon for battlesuit bros.
